Il Colosseo Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria — Restaurant in Salisbury

The food is good. Just good, not great. I gave three stars instead of four because not everyone had finished their salad when the entrees were served. Poor timing of that sort is one of my pet peeves. Excellent bread. I will eat here again when visiting family to sample more dishes. Every restaurant deserves more than one shot at getting it right. The house dressing is homemade and superb! Three of us in a booth. The ladies' orders were not taken first. Call me old fashioned. Service in the South.... Not very professional Update: Just ate the leftovers from the wife's meal. It was a special. Linguini, shrimp, pink cream sauce. Pretty good, but a bit salty. I admit that I am not a fan of salt so bear that in mind when reading this. Decent amount of shrimp. Could have had a bit more broccoli for the needed color. Something I would consider ordering if offered again. It is important to keep things in perspective. This restaurant is located in Salisbury. As far as I know there is nothing to compare it to regarding Italian food. I do NOT count Greeks that name there restaurant with an Italian sounding name...

I happened to be in town making a delivery when I got hungry and starting looking for a unique, local eatery. I found this place to be pretty well rated and I even mapped out a place for me to be able to park my big truck. I was able to park in the YMCA next door, so that was a plus. The atmosphere inside is casual and pretty quiet. I got the Colosseo Special pizza (small) for myself. It's a 12" pie so you'll know what your getting in to. I was torn between a pasta dish, that the waitress recommended, and this pizza, which the waitress also recommended. I read numerous reviews stating the the pizza was absolutely amazing so I decided to go with that. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't as amazing as it was described either. To be honest, it was on the quality level of maybe a mid-level frozen grocery store pizza. The crust was absolutely delicious, but the toppings and sause were pretty bland. The waitress was very nice and attentive, but I wasn't really satisfied with the pizza's taste, I guess I was just expecting more flavor. I definitely don't think it was worth the $15 price tag, it was maybe a $8-9...

Service & food was very poor. We ordered 2 Miller Lites & 2 waters, server went to the kitchen then came back to ask us what drinks we wanted again because she didn't write it down. We both ordered the Veal Marsala special & some artichoke dip for an an app. I asked the server to add green olives to my Caesar side salad & she said no problem. I get the Caesar salad & it has No green olives in it so I ask for them again. The app. comes out & it is spinach dip in cheese sauce. I said I ordered the artichoke dip & she said "no you ordered the spinach dip", which I did not. The Veal Marsala is served & to my surprise it has the green olives in it. Server checks on us & asks how everything is, I said I asked for green olives in my Caesar salad not my Veal, she calls me a liar again & says that I told her to add them to my Veal, LOL. The Veal was very thick like a chicken cutlet, the spaghetti was over cooked/mushy, the Marsala sauce was soo thin that it made all the breading fall of the Veal & had very little flavor.
