Del Taco — Restaurant in Salt Lake City

Going to a fast food joint you never have very high expectations, this del taco however sets a new standard for customer service in fast food! I recently started a job close by and there are not many options in this area, I wasn’t a fan of del taco before this job but let me tell you how this one location has changed that. First off this is a rough area, lots of transients and every one els are from all of the different distribution centers in the area, that being said no matter the customer walking through that door they are going to come with challenges because were either in a hurry or figuring out what we can get. This team helps everyone with a smile, no prejudice, they treat everyone equal. I have also never had them get my order wrong and the food is always fresh and delicious!

Today I was helped by Calista and even though the place was busy and you could tell that they were all running around doing multiple things, she didn’t let that get in the way of making sure I was taken care of, I made my order and she knew her menu so well that at the end she asked if I’d like to add these few items to my order in different combo scenarios, it essentially gave me more food for less money! As busy as she was she took the time to put me first as a customer rather than let me order something that made less sense, that is why I will be continuing to go back to del taco now! I will have to say that this location is better than their competitors. No wonder they are packed at lunch, their food is really good to decent. The plates good use some work, the beans are that fresh but surprisingly the avocado is. Their burritos are ok but I love their breakfast, taste a lot better than most items that have. The absolutely best thing I love from here is the churro, taste great with the filling they add. I've never gone inside this store, but the appearance on the outside could improve, it just seems like they don't care, which usually is an indicative of a bad location. This could be bad for them, but management needs to step up. I do wish that they would upgrade the appearance on the outside, they should make quite a bit of money with all the high value businesses nearby, just recently with stubborn Wendy's on North Template just redid the outside, I don't see why this location can't. Just flew into SLC and my first stop was Del Taco. I’m glad I chose this location!! Anthony’s customer service is unmatched. He was taking orders for the drive thru and inside. He was in the middle of taking someone else's order when I walked in. Greeted me and let me know he’d take my order as soon as he was finished with the other. Apologized a few times for the wait (literally it was like 2 minutes maybe! Nothing crazy and not an inconvenience at all.) My meal came out quick and tasted great. I dined in and was listening to his interactions with the other customers that had come in after me. He remembered a customers name and the customer was shocked he had remembered! From the outside looking in that shows a lot about Anthony’s character and the pride he has in his job which is rare! Especially in the fast food industry.
