When they reopened under new management I of hesitated about going in but then I thought I'd go ahead and try it. However I did not think to ask them if they used MSG. "My bad" I had been in remission for 4 years for ulcerative colitis and as soon as I ate from there I started to have a flare up a severe flare. But did not put it together until yesterday when I stopped in to for the second time to enjoy a some of there vegetable dishes and a little bit up sushi and jello from the buffet. I wanted to take some of there flower soup home for later because I was not feeling very good, thinking it might settle my stomach later. That is when I thought to ask them if they used MSG and they said yes they had it in everything now this was not on their menu I guess they're not regulated to have to point out that MSG was part of their ingredients in all their dishes. They claim to have best ingredients but MSG is one of the worst food enhancers that a person can consume I just wanted to put that out there, their food tasted fine I went in for the vegetables and stayed away from everything else and the sushi was fine I wanted to take a thing of flower soup home the last time I ate there and then I asked them there's no MSG in that right?They said no it's in everything! I asked everything and they said yeah except for the sushi and of course the dessert bar and the salad bar. Unfortunatly I will not be dinning there again. There are a lot of Chinese places that do not use MSG and there food is wonderful a little more expensive but it will not make me sick. Before you go to consume any type of buffet foods look up MSG aka China Salt and ask if they use it and then you can be aware of the danger of this. food inhancer. It is truly bad for you. So eat...

I think it's the only Chinese place around. It is buffet style and doesn't seem to be that busy every time I have been though I only go when I visit my friend there which is not very often. He lives there and does go often with his wife.

It is affordable, it is buffet with an average selection.

They are new owners so I guess they are working on it but seem inexperienced.

The place did not seem that clean at the time I was there and service not refined but was there. Like being served at home.

Quality of food was just ok in most dishes but some were dry and greasy in others.

Ice cream is on the buffet.

The price of buffet is $9.49 but there were 3 of us and my friend asked for $20 toward the bill and he likes to tip big. We all had an iced tea. So 3 buffet and 3 ice tea for $60. I would never pay that much, but night out with friends, I no complain.

If I lived there and I wanted Chinese, I guess I would have to go or drive much further. But I sure would try my best to learn to cook it...

I seldom give five stars, but I just love this place. Tucked at the crossroads of Highway 13 and 26 in the foothills and way out of the way of the beaten path. Hadn’t been here for a couple years and glad I made the trip up for Modesto. There’s nothing fancy about it’s just straightforward, but it’s very clean and sanitary. The steam tables are kept immaculate and the food is well stocked and up to temperature. The sushi is the best I’ve had in quite some time. All the ingredients are fresh and delightful. As you work your way through the steam table you just don’t have enough room on one plate. Don’t bother thinking about a diet when you come in here because it just doesn’t work.
