Hidalgo's Restaurant — Restaurant in San Angelo

Breakfast is always great here. It's also served all day. Most of their good is good as well. The reason for the two star is because image and personality is everything in companies. The staff here is so distant with their tables it is ridiculous. The last two times I went to this particular Hidalgos I have had three or more different waiters/waitresses attend my table. Then I have to repeat my drink order everytime to a different person because they don't know it. Then have to tell them I have already ordered my food by someone else multiple times. This last time was the worst, we were in a time.crunch and I could not get anyone to our table for ten minutes to take our orders and there was only two other tables in the building. Then when we were ready to leave I had to leave my leftovers because I couldn't get a server to get me a togo box. EXCELLENT SERVICE IN A BELOVED LOCALS HOT SPOT& NEIGHBORHOOD EATERY ..GREAT AUTHENTIC TASTE SERVED ON HOT PLATES, FRESH OFF THE LINE/ GRILL . ALL STAFF WERE SO WELCOMING &HOSPITABLE. THEY held onto my bag left behind while getting kids and belongings together.Another customer noted it had fallen under the table & handed it in.They knew who we were when my husband phoned and said we were about an hour away and he would be returning that night .They closed in approximately an hour,they were there when he arrived with everything untouched in the bag.My life could have changed that night had this not occured.We already knew we would be eating there regularly from now on but this display of true decency/ professionalism and just good hearted people did not go unnoticed.!!. 5...

The food here was good. Wasn't anything amazing but not too bad either. The service was pleasant and attentive but the atmosphere feels old. A lot could be done with the place to spruce it up a bit. It doesn't look nearly as good as in the pictures- it's frankly a bit run down looking/feeling.

I will say, I ordered a meal with jalapeños and most places get rid of most spice - I like my meals spicy so that was good they left the heat intact - but be warmed they do not de-seed their jalapeños and I got a very spicy one in my meal. Not expecting it but some may have had a huge issue with that heat. If you order anything with spice be sure to manage it according to your tolerance. Wow it was a scorcher.
