This was my first experience with their Service Department. I had scheduled a service visit several days in advance to satisfy a Hyundai recall notice. Their email confirmation of my appointment even included an exact description of the work to be done, along with another recall code that I couldn't decipher, so they knew well ahead of time what part(s) would be needed to fix the issues. I had also requested shuttle service to my office so I wouldn't have to wait the two hours that it was supposed to take to make the repair. When I arrived at the dealership a few minutes early, the service advisor told me that there was another recall on the vehicle that could be fixed with a software update, so they would take care of that while they had my vehicle. He then asked me if I was going to wait for the vehicle or if I needed a ride to my office. Shouldn't he have already had that information? In any case, he said that the shuttle wouldn't be available for another 30 minutes, so he would take me to the waiting area, which he did. At a little after 8:30 am, the shuttle driver stepped in and called my name, so away we went. Two hours later, the service advisor called to tell me that they were able to satisfy the recall that only required a software update, but that they had run out of the part for the other recall the day before, and would have to schedule another appointment after the part came in. Here's my complaint: if you know exactly what I'm coming in for, and you know it days in advance, shouldn't you keep the part on hand that you know you'll need? And if you do run out the day before, shouldn't you notify the customer so that they are not inconvenienced for two hours, only to learn that they're going to have to do it all over again? While everyone I dealt with was extremely courteous, there didn't seem to be a genuine appreciation for the fact that my time is as valuable as theirs. I hope this improves for them, but I may be taking my vehicle up to Abilene for service in the future.
I have upgraded my review to 3 stars due to my return visit. My only complaint about this visit was the amount of time it took to make the recall repair. The service advisor told me it would take about an hour, so I decided to wait rather than catch a ride back to my office. Two and a half hours later, I walked back over to the Service Department since I hadn't heard from anyone. They were finished with my repair and were just crossing the t's and dotting the i's on my paperwork. Everyone over there is extremely courteous and helpful, and I'm hoping that the Service Department will improve once all of the construction...
Read moreI had an absolutely amazing experience here working with both Rich primarily and Jimmy for paperwork later on. Both of them did a wonderful job of working to find ways to meet me where I was at and match what they had to me, not convince me to take on something they thought I needed. I never even felt like I was being sold to buy something but rather they did indeed have what it was I came in to find and buy already. Rich worked with me tirelessly to understand what my situation was, needs, wants, requirements, limits, preferences, etc. This really made me feel valued and understood as a car shopper with unique needs for how a car fits me as a person and the lifestyle I sought to match it. I knew what I wanted when I came in so this did help him identify my car specs. I also already owned a car by this dealer from another location for 4 years as is so the reputation and brand already sat well with me as it was. But even so, Rich really took the time, made the effort, and went the extra small steps to work with me on price, trade, discounts, APR, as well as simply pointing out factors of the car I sought out that matched my unique needs and wants in a new Hyundai vehicle. Although I was planning to hold for 2-3 months before trading in my previous Hyundai for a new model and make, Rich ended up making me an offer I simply could not possibly refuse (after my pass on 2 prior offers!).
His candor, professionalism, concerns for my needs really won me over. From initial car questioning to test drive to the next day's follow up, he had my interest in mind first, not his of just making a sale. Jimmy then continued this support and care with paperwork and final sale specs making super clear all details, terms, numbers, and specs of the payments, coverage, warranties, etc. I never felt intimidated or burdened or confused by an onslaught of papers and terms but rather guided slowly through the process. I could ask questions freely, openly, and easily with clear answers given at any point. I liked not feeling pressured, rushed, or confused about what was happening at any point.
Between Rich and Jimmy, I felt I got service to my need to get a car I wanted, how I wanted it, not sold a car to meet a quota alone. That is a big distinction.
I would recommend anyone seeking a Hyundai vehicle to come here and work with Rich to walk away with THE car you desire at the best possible deal and benefit to you. I am now the very proud owner of a new 2021 Hyundai 2021 venue with no regrets of buying months earlier...
Read moreI like to take my time when looking for a new car, test drive a few, compare prices and performance. So I decided to go to several dealerships in town to get an idea of what was available in San Angelo. Car Town was the friendliest dealership out of the 4 places I went. As a woman it can be a very daunting task to try and purchase a car. The good 'ol boy attitude oozes from car salesmen and I'm very prepared to do battle when I am in the market for a new car. I had been to a couple of dealerships in San Angelo, to compare prices and the customer service. I went to another much larger dealership where I found a car I was very much interested in but the attitude from the sales man was the typical male peacocking I've expected. He was very dismissive of my questions about the performance of the vehicle, instead choosing to point out a completely different car, then try to chat about the car color, how many mirrors were in the car, and how cute I'd look in the car..rolls eyes. He even asked me if my husband or boyfriend would be along soon so they could "talk numbers", as if I couldn't do this w/out a man's help. I left that dealership completely insulted and decided to try one more before calling it a week to regroup. I chose Car Town Hyundai. The salesman (Kevin) that helped me was friendly, and very nice. He never ever talked down to me, and answered my questions about vehicles with no problem, no attitude and no belittling at all. He was helpful and informative. I never felt pressured to make a purchase unless I was absolutely sure. I was very pleased with my experience at Car Town Hyundai and though I didn't purchase that day I will be back. If you're looking for a new or used car try this dealership, they treat you like a human, they are laid back and honest. Ask for Kevin, he was the best and I plain to ask for him when I finally make...
