Next Level Grill & Bar — Restaurant in San Angelo

Beware. Next Level Grill is not what it once was. I traveled from Fort Worth, and our group looked forward to enjoying their brunch during the rodeo every year, but this year was terrible. With a new chef, the food was subpar. It sat under heat lamps for too long, resulting in some of our group finishing while others waited for 10 minutes. The waitress was slow to serve us and took 20 minutes to bring us mimosa glasses after receiving our tower. It took an hour for our food to arrive after ordering. The pancakes were undercooked, the cheese fries were unappetizing from being under the warmer lamp for too long, and the queso was terrible. They didn’t bring us silverware until 10 minutes after we asked upon receiving food, so we had to get up and grab it ourselves after waiting. Drinks were constantly empty. My family and I arrived and was seated. We waited 30 minutes until I had to get up and ask if anyone would be taking our order. The waitress asked where I was seated and that she didn’t realize that we hadn’t been helped yet. We all order our food and as we are waiting for our food a couple comes and sits down next to us, orders, and received their food before we hear anything from a waitress. At the 1 hour mark I once again have to get up and go ask about our food and how much longer it will be. The waitress looks down and says they will be preparing our food next. Which makes no sense if they are preparing orders as they receive them. The couple next to us shouldn’t have got their food before us. Well, I was more impressed with my friend's choices than I was with mine, lol. First of all, they were out of duck, and I had been thinking about it for two days! So I got the steak tacos. They were good, but not great? A bit more gristle than I expected. But still fairly fresh and flavorful. The Southpaw Special fries could have done with a lot less seasoning, it made them feel almost sandy in the mouth. BUT...the jalapeno popper dip was GREAT! Kinda on the extra spicy side, but only in a way you notice when you stop eating it. And my friend said her Cobb salad was delicious. It looked super fresh! Good place to stop by and eat, whether you wanna play or not! And they have a ton of choices, so I will definitely be back to try out some of those mouth-watering burgers I saw being paraded...
