I can't say enough good things about The Bearded Barista in San Angelo, TX! This coffee shop has quickly become my go-to spot for catching up with friends, getting some work done, or simply enjoying a delicious cup of coffee.
One of the things I love most about The Bearded Barista is the welcoming atmosphere. The staff is always friendly and greets me by name when I walk in the door. There are plenty of places to sit, and I always feel comfortable and relaxed when I'm there.
But let's talk about the coffee - it's absolutely fantastic! My favorite drink is the Dirty Chai with cinnamon powder, and it never disappoints. The bagels and paninis are also top-notch, and I love trying the new themed specials that they come up with every month. It's clear that the employees take pride in their shop and their product, and it shows in everything they do.
One of the unique features of The Bearded Barista is that they roast their own coffee beans in-house. This means that the coffee is always fresh and flavorful, and it's a real treat when you catch the roasting process in action.
Lastly, I love that the building doubles as a church on Sundays and that there's a meeting room that can be reserved for parties, meetings, or other events. It's clear that The Bearded Barista is not just a coffee shop, but a vibrant and welcoming community hub.
Overall, I would highly recommend The Bearded Barista to anyone looking for a great cup of coffee, delicious food, and a welcoming atmosphere. This coffee shop...
Read moreI am very picky when it comes to coffee, and I was a little skeptical of what San Angelo had to offer, despite this, however, I selected the "best" coffee shop in town.
Finding this establishment is difficult because construction has completed blocked one road leading to it, however, once the entrance to the shopping center is discovered, parking is plentiful.
The location is unmistakable due to its exterior decorations and lighting.
The inside was clean and orderly to the point if sterility - the potential hallmarks of someone running such an establishment as a hobby rather than a serious enterprise. Also, the staff was young - again, a potential concern for serious coffee.
Despite this, service was prompt, professional and friendly. I ordered a cappuccino (my touchstone of rating for a coffee shop for the first time) and a seasonal pumpkin spice and key lime muffins.
Everything was excellent. The cappuccino had a very pleasant dark, toasted roast (which I prefer) which belies the expertise of the roaster, as it is right on the border of potentially tasting "burnt," but instead was perfect (again, for me and my tastes).
The muffins were also excellent, in that they were very well baked, moist with, for me, a little too much sugar on top.
The prices were outstanding for the quality and portions I received.
In conclusion - this is an excellent coffee shop, where care and attention are out into every aspect - especially the coffee.

Read moreI'll preface my review with this fact. This place hasn't even been open a month. That out of the way, my two visits have been satisfactory. I ordered a Red-Eye which was a shot of expresso into their house blend. Then I ordered a "Cold Brew Milkshake". I use quotes because while it was tasty, it wasn't the consistency of what I would consider a milkshake.
I also ordered a Reuben panini. While tasty, I got hardly any sauerkraut or Russian dressing. The other member of my party got the Humboldt bagel which was a far superior food item. I'm still giving this place 5 stars for a few reasons.
Nothing I have had here is bad. They just either weren't what I was expecting or missing some elements. I also found the service and atmosphere exceptional. We were greeted and were presented answers to any questions we posed.
All in all, I recommend this place. It's relatively accessible. It's close the college for students and it's a local business that needs initial support. I wish the owners and employees the best of luck. I can't wait to return and...
