There is a reason why this place has a really high rating. They serve authentic and delicious Mexican food/sweet bread. If you can visit this place, make sure to go.

Now for the detailed review. šŸ˜„ I asked if they could make me a torta with chilaquiles, and they said, "Of course we can!" With a huge friendly smile.

The Torta- Where to start? The bolio they use for their torta is amazing. It is a unique bolio they make in-house. You can't find this anywhere else. It held the ingredients perfectly. Biting into it, you get an explosion of flavors, spices, and a range of textures. All the ingredients complimented each other beautifully. It had everything you'd expect from a traditional order of chilaquiles. Beans, avocado, queso fresco, cilantro, egg, pickled veggies, Mexican sour cream, but the star of the show had to be the Morita sauce they used for the chilaquiles. They offer red and green sauce as well. But if you venture out a bit more and try the Morita sauce, you will be happy you did.

The Concha- I got a chocolate Concha out of three flavors they had available. When I first saw it, I expected it to be good. What I didn't expect was for the bread to also have chocolate flavor. When I bit into it, I was surprised not to have the typical white bread used to make Conchas. It is definitely one of the best I have ever tried anywhere. I can't wait to try their other sweet bread.

Muchas gracias por la experiencia. No espero regresar y disfrutar de su comida otra vez. An creado un restaurante bien especial. Les deseo lo mejor y que...

In the heart of San Antonio lies Alebrije Panaderia, a bakery that seamlessly combines the authenticity of traditional Mexican flavors with a touch of contemporary flair. As someone who spends their days exploring the finest culinary offerings, Alebrije Panaderia stands out as a testament to the rich gastronomic culture of Mexico.

Our breakfast visit was nothing short of revelatory. We commenced our journey with the chilaquiles, divided between the tangy salsa verde and the smoky, complex salsa morita. These chilaquiles are not just a dish; they are an experience. Each bite took us back to the bustling markets of Mexico, where the aroma of freshly prepared meals fills the air. Without a doubt, these are among the best chilaquiles one can find in San Antonio, if not beyond.

Complementing our savory delight, we indulged in a piƱa empanada and a pink concha. The piƱa empanada was a symphony of tropical sweetness, its pastry perfectly flaky and enveloping a rich pineapple filling. The pink concha, with its tender, flavorful bread, was the ideal accompaniment to our morning coffee, offering a delicate balance of sweetness and texture.

Service at Alebrije Panaderia was equally commendable. The lady at the counter was a beacon of warmth and knowledge, offering insightful recommendations that enhanced our experience.

Alebrije Panaderia is not merely a bakery; it is a culinary haven where tradition meets excellence. It is a place that invites you to return, to explore, and to savor the exquisite flavors that make it a standout destination in...

This place is a MUST try! I want to start off by saying the lady that received us gave us the most wonderful and welcoming customer care. She took the time to explain each bread she had available. I don’t know if she’s the owner, if she is, I truly believe this place starts it’s uniqueness by her beautiful personality! Her charisma is contagious! šŸ¤ She recommended the pan de muerto, I’ve only had it once in another location and I wasn’t a big fan but I wanted to try it again. I’m so glad I did! This pan de muerto was absolutely delicious! So fluffy and soft! I had my coffeee with me so it was the perfect combination. This bread is seasonal so you must try it if you visit! We drove 30 minutes to this bakery because I heard so many good reviews about it and I’m so glad I did. 100% recommend. One the best customer service I’ve ever received, top 1 actually. It’s the first thing I look for so that I know if I’d like to come back, and this place is definitely the best at that. The bread was sooo unique and authentic at the same time. I’ll add a picture so that you can see that not only I was looking forward to eating this delicious bread!
