The food and service were both horrible. My experience started like this....we arrive and were greeted per cashier. Waitress walks towards as we are getting ready to decide where to sit and asks "what would you like to drink?". So we tell her and we proceed to sit down. Drinks were served. Another waitress comes out and takes our order. I ordered over easy huevo rancheros w/extra beans (I didn't ask for sauce on side which they did and it was cold) and it was completely tasteless. My plate was brought out first. Everything on plate was lukewarm. I asked the waitress if she could heat the sauce for me. Which kindly she did. Oh and the sauce tasted like pure tomato sauce then comes my son's Taco...the carne guidada was dry as heck with big chunks of meat. One piece filled up his whole mouth. My husband's plate was hot but tasteless. The chilaquiles were dry as well but worked fine with the cheese. My son had tea to drink but he didn't like it he said it tasted like carrots so I call the waitress and asked he if he could exchange the tea for a soda. Her reply was that she could exchange it but that it was going to be charged as well I asked her why if he says it has a funny taste she said I'm sorry it's freshly made. I can bring him another tea but it's going to be the same. She then said well I don't know if u read the memo on the door oh wait I don't think that they have put it up yet but we can't exchange foods if we do it would be a double charge because people come and order food and say they don't like it so they don't have to pay. I told her even though I don't like the food I'm still going to pay for it. It was just horrible food and service I wouldn't recommend it and no I didn't...
Read moreThe food is always great but the ladies who work there..every single one of them. Needs an attitude adjustment and matter of fact should all just be fired and replaced!! They are all so entirely rude and disrespectful and beyond unprofessional it's a shame!! They forget that they should be grateful and that they are representing that restaurant by the services they provide. With that being said... It makes me not want to visit this place because every time I walk in there I'm instantly reminded of why exactly I don't like going there in the first place. And 9 out of 10 times my order is in one way or another wrong!! Or incomplete. But being as it's less than a block away from my house, the convenience of it has me coming back more than I would even like to. The man who works the counter sometimes is super nice, friendly and professional and they should all be trained by him IMHO. i always hear the same complaints by everyone I know who visits this restaurant. It's such a shame really because it's a nice establishment with great food. Although a bit over priced , the service these woman provide is giving the bad name and reputation they currently hold in the community. I hope they can fix this problem!!! It's been here a long time from what I know, and def. Needs a over haul of servers if they can't get it right. And fast!! I hope to one day change my rating so it can reflect the stars it desperately deserves. But they are the BIG issue that brings me to my current...
Read moreIve passed by this place nearly every day for the last 8 months bc I live down the street and it usually looks closed. Today I stumbled in as suggested by Google bc I was looking for tacos. Let me start off by saying that the staff was friendly. However the food sucked a$5. Allow me to elaborate. All I ordered was 2 chicken tacos with avocado on corn tortilla with a small shrimp cocktail and a Diet Coke. As you can see from the picture I uploaded, the chicken is pulled chicken on a tortilla. That’s it. No salsa, pico, diced onions or anything. Secondly the tortilla was mushy because it wasn’t fully cooked. And the chicken used in the tacos had a funky aftertaste. So I went to try the shrimp cocktail and it was frozen!(like a slushy) When I called the waitress and alerted her, her response was that it wasn’t shrimp ceviche but shrimp cocktail(cóctel)—therefore it was supposed to be like that. This is why I keep telling people never to expect real Mexican food in San Antonio. This is a perfect example of practicing mediocrity over and over. And to add insult to injury the bill was...
