Booked a room because it had decent reviews, stars and looked very clean and nice. Got there and i had blood on my side of the bed, and i put my foot in it. Go down to the front desk, which had very lovely overnight staff, and they gave us a new room. The new room had a dirty tub and old popcorn on the nightstand and even in the lamp shade. We dealt with it since we were moved already, but the next day they did repairs in our room without us knowing and when we got back for the day the staff told us that there may be an odor in the room and on the floor. The smell was god awful, and it was so strong i got an instant headache. We went downstairs and they moved us like they had told us. The new room was fine, sticky floor but that’s it. We asked to speak with a manager from day one and he was either not there, coming in late, or he left right before we got back or came in right after we left. He wouldn’t ever call us, or speak with us the whole time we were there and we had to bother the front desk girls so much because he’d only leave them notes. He apparently offered a 50% off which was fine, but didn’t refund it to the card. Once we left we tried getting in contact but still he wouldn’t call or email us back. We had to contact customer service and Expedia to try to get this resolved. We talked to 4 reps from best western and 2 from Expedia and today we finally were able to get the refund. The manager offered the 50% off and it was noted with best western customer service but when the Expedia rep called to authorize the refund, the manager said 20% was the most he’d refund. I was on the phone dealing with this for 3 hours and FINALLY, after a month we have gotten this resolved. We were and are annoyed that in our 4 day stay, we had 3 rooms and the manager refused to contact us and make this better. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to ANYONE after the experience we had, it just isn’t worth your vacation time or relaxation away from home time to deal...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying at the Best Western Plus Downtown North in San Antonio, TX, and I must say it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the hotel. The staff was friendly, courteous, and eager to assist, ensuring a smooth and seamless check-in process.
The room I stayed in was impeccably clean and well-maintained, showcasing the hotel's commitment to providing a high standard of comfort for its guests. The bed was comfortable, offering a restful night's sleep, and the amenities provided were more than sufficient for a pleasant stay. The room also boasted modern furnishings and thoughtful touches, adding to the overall sense of comfort and relaxation.
The hotel's location was a significant advantage as it was conveniently situated near major attractions in San Antonio. This made it easy for me to explore the city and its historic landmarks without spending much time commuting. Furthermore, the surrounding neighborhood felt safe, and there were numerous dining options and shops within walking distance.
One aspect that truly stood out during my stay was the complimentary breakfast. The selection was diverse, catering to different dietary preferences and featuring both hot and cold options. The breakfast area was well-maintained, and the staff ensured that everything was restocked promptly, even during peak hours. It was an excellent way to start the day and provided great value for the overall stay.
The hotel's amenities also extended to its fitness center and swimming pool, both of which were well-kept and inviting. The fitness center had a good range of equipment, suitable for a quick workout or a more extended exercise session. Likewise, the pool area was clean and provided a refreshing escape from...
Read moreWe checked in last week and within 10 minutes of walking around our room my feet were dirty as can be. I took a washcloth and wiped my feet off and brought it down to the front desk to show them how dirty the floors were. I said I don't care if we get another room or they send someone up to the room to clean it, but something needed to be done. After about 10 minutes of the front desk person talking with someone else she went ahead and said she will get us a different room and all I asked was to make sure it was clean. She said give me 30 minutes and she will call the room so we can switch room, but in the meantime repack all of my stuff since I told her I already unpacked. During this time a cleaning lady went to our and washed the floors. I was still expecting a different room since this is what the front desk person said they would do. I went downstairs after 40 minutes and she said well we cleaned the room and I said you told me to re-pack and you would switch my room. So they went ahead and switched rooms. Not once did I hear I apologize for the dirty room - nothing. All I received from her is we rush to clean rooms so rooms are ready for early check ins. I couldn't believe she told me that excuse. Well the next day we left the room to come back to an uncleaned room. I called the front desk and the front desk told me that it's by request only. This was never stated to me at check in which is should be for guests to know. So the 3rd day when I left the room at 10am I requested from the front desk our room be cleaned. I saw them write down our room # and they made a note of it. I came back 6 hours later and it was not cleaned. There was such lack of customer service with no apologizing - excuses being made - and then no follow thru....
