The good: carne guisada meat was tasty. Tortillas were tasty as well and fluffy. I love home made tortillas! The not so good: a bit on the expensive side. You can get a cheaper and just as good taco at Rolando’s Super tacos. Unless Rolando’s went up in price, their super carne guisada is $6.25 compared to the $8+ monster price. You are paying for extra toppings but in large part you are paying for a lot of tortilla. The bad: I paid for a monster chorizo and egg taco. The serving of egg was pretty pathetic. I feel like they confused the order but they gave the big tortillas so I don’t see how they could make that mistake. Anyway, not happy having paid $4+ for a taco that should have been on their $1.70 menu. Overall, the food was good. I feel I paid more than I would expect for what I got. I guess if I wasn’t so short changed on the chorizo and egg taco I might have a better opinion of the experience. Will I go back? Maybe but I’ll pass on the monster tacos.

Great service, cozy atmosphere! Flour tortillas were serviceable - not too tender, but not store bought. Carne guisada was a color I hadn't seen before (maybe its a San Antonio thing) but was tender if not particularly flavorful - like the kind of canned meat that comes in my jefito's commodities box at the SAHA property. Will try again for breakfast and see if the breakfast menu exceeds the lunch.

Arturo's Cafe is a best kept secret south of downtown San Antonio. I grew up in the inner city here in SA. As such, I share in the experience and tradition of down home Tex Mex- SA Style cooking. There is nothing like it in the world!! I can say Arturo's inspired me to say this because they definitely represent what I write here. The food is amazing and the service feels like familia. The tiny restaurant takes me back to my roots and calls memories of breakfast at my abuelitas or tias homes. Come starving and bring friends to finish off their Monster Tacos. The prices and value are one of the best in San Antonio. The is only one thing you should mind is the parking and construction. Don't miss out. Try Arturo's at your...

I’ve been eating at this place for over 25 years , It use to be a place I went to as a little girl to get more for the buck you know hard times plus it’s comfort food , now these days the prices have tripled and even a simple taco is over priced 🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ I know things change but now with new owner recently the food has changed , the days say they will be open but when you get to the place it’s closed it’s hot inside 🤦🏻‍♀️ the drive use to be worth it but now I just...
