Daniel's Cafe — Restaurant in San Antonio

A friend told me the food was really good there. So I went to meet her in which I bought a friend with me also. We walked in and there were no tables available only booths. Since I was disabled I could not sit in a booth. So we were told we would have to wait which was fine. But then it turned into 10 minutes. There was 1 table with no one there but it had a chips and a drink on that table. Assuming it needed to be cleaned the busboy didn't clean it. Time had turned to 20 minutes and then a man walked in and sat at that table. The waitress had reserved the that table for him as she continued to flirt with him and didn't take his order right away. That was so disappointing to see. Then when a man got up from another table the bus boy didn't clean it either. He stood in the back swinging his towel trying to avoid cleaning it. It was now 30 minutes waiting and only the lady in the side table asked me what we were waiting for. I told her a table but yet the other waitress didn't tell the busboy to clean the other table. She was too busy flirting with the guy that came in. I then called my friend we were leaving to go to another restaurant and then a lady from the register told me to wait for a few minutes more but I think after 30 minutes that was enough time waiting. Will I go back the answer is no. If anyone ask me if that's a good place to eat gonna tell them you probably get faster and reserved table if you're a man....I have always heard the food is great there but guess we will never know....didn't know you had to reserve tables....if I wasn't disabled I would of sat at a booth. Hope the owner of this restaurant knows...

My brother and I went to have breakfast/lunch. Waitress took our order. She placed the order, at least I think she did. Other customers started coming in to the restaurant after us. We waited and waited and waited. People who came in after us were being served. I think we waited at least 15 minutes. I asked the waitress what happened to our order. She left and came back and told us we should be getting our food soon. We still had to wait. What happened to our order? Did the cooks moved it to the side to serve their regular customers? Was it placed in the back burner? There was a customer who came in at least fifteen minutes after us and apparently all the employees knew him. I noticed that after waiting for our food and finally receiving it, this customer received his plate one minute later after we received ours. What we should have done was to get up and leave. I had been there once before with my parents years ago and...

Went to grab breakfast after a run and stopped by. We made a fantastic choice! Daniel’s Cafe was excellent. The food was so good and fresh. The service was excellent and prices were very affordable. My husband ordered the chorizo and egg plate, our son got the huevos rancheros and I had to try the lengua and tripa tacos as they are hard to find lately. OMG, everything was soooo delicious 😋. The lengua was super tender and the best I’ve ever had, tripas were fresh and delish, the guys said the beans were super delicious as well as barcacoa and chorizo and eggs. The waitresses were so nice and kept coming back for refills but the overall experience was excellent. They play KLOVE(Christian music) and display spiritual messages. Love that♥️....
