Overall I love this place! Good food, GREAT TACOS, even later in the evening. Love that I can call ahead and my food will be ready when I get there. I don't like that I get sauce in bag though even after asking for them not to include it when I call my order in. I can't do the green sauce and sometimes it leaks...over ALL the napkins, my only two salt packets in the bag, and my taco wrapping. And well with no clean/dry napkins, that can be a problem. Their guac is surprisingly spicey, as are their cheese enchiladas. Not a fan of red sauce on my enchiladas and not a fan of spice so I can never order enchiladas here. My kids can handle some spice, unlike me, but even they couldn't eat the guacamole. Oh! One sort of big issue for me personally is that I only LOOK like I might speak Spanish, but alas I don't and won't since the main language here is English. If I come in with a Caucasian friend or SO the waitresses will IMMEDIATELY just turn to me and start asking what the Caucasian person wants to order. Its HIGHLY annoying! At ANY location within the US, Mexican food restaurant or not. I'm from SA, I am Hispanic, but I speak English and don't appreciate it when speaking Spanish is EXPECTED of ME, the CUSTOMER, just cause it's easier for the EMPLOYEE. And sometimes the people that make this assumption actually end up looking upset with me like I'm faking it or something is wrong with me. I've yet to find a good Mexican restaurant that doesn't treat their patrons this way. I mean, we're in America, why does no one go up to my Caucasian husband and start speaking English to him? Assumptions are impolite IMO and put people in awkward/uncomfortable positions. I always say, "I don't speak Spanish," in the nicest way I can possibly say it in, since politeness is what I would appreciate in return. Luckily this place is more friendly than most but it has still happened a...
Read moreBE CAREFUL!! THIS PLACE TRIES TO RIP YOU OFF WITH UNWANTED UPSELLS AND THEN ACTS LIKE YOU'RE TRYING TO RIP THEM OFF. I went yesterday and ordered a Jalisco burrito w/carne asada. I have not ordered one in over a year, and last I had one, it was 3x the size I got, came with lettuce/tom/beans/rice and sour cream in the burrito. When I saw the rice and beans on the side, I told my waitress I only wanted the Jalisco Burrito. She replied, "oh, I know. But that's just how it comes." I thought OK, maybe they decided to put those ingredients outside the burrito, as long as its still $7.99. I get to the register and well, well, well...the cashier charges me $10.99 (plate price) plus $1.85 for carne asada. A) I let the $1.85 slide. If the restaurant decided to charge extra without putting it on the menu, the waitress' job is to let everyone that requests carne asada know there is an extra charge. B) I fought the 10.99 charge because I told the waitress I just wanted the burrito, and she made me think either a) that is how it comes now, or b) she refused the opportunity to exchange it to get the upsell. Then the cashier makes it sound like I'm trying to just get free food. She repeatedly asked me several times, "So, you ate the rice and beans on your plate and you want a refund?" I kept saying yes, your waitress made me think I GOT WHAT I ORDERED but THAT is just how it is served now!! THE LACK OF INTEGRITY urks the hell out of me, AND JUST BECAUSE most people let it go they think they can get away with it. It's just too bad this is the closest Jalisco to my house. But for the principle, I don't mind driving farther...
Read moreI normally order a Picadillo plate with rice and beans for under $10 which is my go to plate. Today I ended up trying their $13 Enchilada Dinner Plate with picadillo and now its going to be my new favorite plate from there. The amount of each ingredient used is fulfilling. The rice and beans today was a good proportion to the plate size. The sauce used for the enchiladas pair very nicely overall. The taste or quality of the food was very very good no complaints. I also drank Sweet Tea which has refills. I do enjoy their lemonade but unfortunately they dont have refills on it and I drink quite a bit so that's a no go for now. We do see everytime we eat breakfast or lunch there that many people come in grab their to go food and head out so that's always a good sign as well. I can say their picadillo since I've ordered it as my main entree for a while now has actually maintained its consistency where it can be depended on to taste good with any type of meal eaten with it. Enchilada tortillas remained soft and delicious as well there wasnt any piece even the corners that turned hard while eating and we normally stay eating for about an hour before finishing paying and leaving. Also before I forget they have daily specials which Im unsure if there website shows it or not so you'd have to call or stop by to check it out. I believe it's typically some type of meal for $8 to $10 that also includes Tea which typically that meal would be $13+ without tea...
