Flor de Chipas is a very popular, and very good neighborhood restaurant. Although it has recently changed ownership, almost all the employees, and pqarticularly the kitchen staff, remain. The service and food quality are both very good, I am particularly fond of the flour tortillas, and the Salsa Ranchera served with the chips is very good with just the right amount of heat, as is the Salsa Verde, but I would advise everyone to be very cautious with the Salsa Roja as it is the REAL THING! Muy, muy picoso! The breakfast tacos are large and flavorful, and while the lunch specials menu has been changed, and the prices have gone up some, the increases aren't as much as other places, and still include tea, and the basics remain. Read moreFirst time there looking for a new breakfast spot. Ample parking. Regulars seem to be a mix of city workers, tradesmen and retirees. Welcomed immediately by bilingual, friendly, wait staff in denim jeans and polo tops. Drink orders were taken quickly served and food order made it back promptly as well. The homemade tortillas were fluffy with a soft crunch on the surface! Huevos rancheros were made well done to order with a decent sauce and the beans and potatoes were tasty! The barbacoa was greasy enough to please but not enough to dissuade from devouring the whole thing! Plenty of tea refills and ice water were had until we left! We will be returning this cozy spot...

The thing I hated most was the bathroom. It was made for men and women both but never locked. It may have changed by now but I really loved the flavor of the food. The overall dining area and kitchen appeared to be very clean. Pestilence happens and can be eliminated. We stopped going mostly because we have a lot of children in our family and it was uncomfortable getting up and down to guard the bathroom door for privacy. Don't get me wrong but it may have...
