Fred's Fish Fry — Restaurant in San Antonio

Unfortunately, stopping here was a huge disappointment. Here's what the platter with fish, shrimp, oysters, fries and bread were like. The fish was bland and was shaped as an odd looking, non-flaky crusted, rectangle. The oysters cooked in the same oil were mushy and under-cooked. The shrimp were the only decent part of the order. The French fries, well, McDonalds or Whataburger need not worry.

The dining area is small and the room temperature was rather cold. Once the place gets about 10 people in there, the seating area and tables are at capacity. There's not much of an outdoor view either.

Save your money and skip this place. You're better off selecting Long John Silvers, or heading over to HEB and either buy yourself some seafood. You may want to try one of their frozen seafood meals like one from Gorton's named "Beer battered fish fillets" or "Crunchy breaded fish fillets." If nothing else, it'll cost you less money and you can cook it or heat it yourself. Español

Desafortunadamente, la parada aquí fue una gran decepción. Así era el plato con pescado, camarones, ostras, papas fritas y pan. Quizás quiera probar una de sus comidas de marisco congelado como una de Gorton's llamada "Filetes de pescado rebozados con cerveza" o "Filetes de pescado empanizados crujientes". Trash!! Waited at drive thru speaker for 15min just trying to get someone to take my order. No one ever answered. Drive thru window no one answered. There was 2 people inside waiting so it wasn't busy. Lost...

Getting too expensive cup of tartar sauce 2.50 jalapeño 80 cents not even provided a fork. All in all 16.42 for a seafood platter no drink. I will go to Chinese buffet next...
