J Anthony's Seafood — Restaurant in San Antonio

CHANGE THE FISH BACK. CHANGE THE FISH BACK. Y'all litteraly don't shine too much on anything but the fish. Changing your recipe is how you lose the locals who are how you stay in business. The fish that had me and my family and friends craving this food and coming back time and time again (for me over 10 years) is no longer! Presa and military both have poor service and inside not that clean. Never in the past would I have left a bad review because this was my local fish place growing up and when you are a loyal customer one bad time ever so often doesn't total the actual rating. But this is a huge change and I have to speak to try and get it back! There was no other place like you guys (Because of the fried fish) now that is not keeping you unique and the other restaurants that do their total menu items well and have cleaner locations will overshadow (they already have higher ratings than you) and people will go there (good places popular in San Antonio are sea Island , Laguna madre) and I pray this local business can stay in business. J Anthony's is not your average fried, fast food. Its a little different as its more a mexican influenced seafood. Meals come with rice that is similar to spanish rice, and a green habanero pepper.

I've been eating here off and on for years and I usually order the fried fish plates. I've tried the fish tacos as well in the past, but my favorite is the fried items including the oysters. The food is always consistent, and the service good. Prices are average for seafood, but cheaper than a lot of other seafood places. Your smaller meals start at about $6, the large ones around $10.

The S Presa location is a smaller neighborhood location, and one of thier oldest locations, but the SE Military drive location which is only 5 minutes away is very large, modern, and features a nice dining area.

I come to this location specifically for orders to go, but have eaten in once or twice while in the neighborhood. Service here has always been good, and any problems I've ever had with to go items, they were more than...

I did my order over the phone between 1:22 and 1:24 they told me my order would be ready in 10 minutes which would have been at 1:34. They told me to go to a certain tent area to wait for my order to be brought out and they kept bringing out everybody's order but mine and they kept asking me what number am I and what did I order I guess apparently they forgot about me so they told me to go back to the front and ask me again what did I order I told them what I ordered so they said they were going to make it fresh and give me extra for waiting there almost 33 minutes because I was there waiting until 1:57 The plate didn't have anything extra in it. I know they work hard and I know that the cook is very busy making everybody's plate but if they tell you that it will be ready in 10 minutes and you have to wait an extra 23 minutes why do they tell you that it would be ready in 10 minutes .
