Great pool players, Friendly Atmosphere and overall good people

Coco Locos is a super cool dive, where you can find strong tournament competition, friendly people and high break and run pots. I was a little nervous about going to a pool tournament in a strange city alone, but I genuinely felt safe and well cared for here. From the moment I walked in, Ernesto, the owner, greeted me with enthusiasm, and throughout the night he introduced me to people as they came in the door. The overall vibe was positive, the pool tournament was run smoothly, and the players were just super chill good people! The bartender also went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of. Even though I lost pretty quickly, I had tons of fun getting to know everyone! It might not be as polished as some other billiards spots in town, but It’s the kind of spot where you walk in as a stranger and leave feeling like part of the family. The owner was observed saying a woman has to act like a woman in his bar, or she will be treated accordingly. This bar has negligent security and it is not safe for the general public, unless you are a regular patron. It also smells horribly inside.

There were regular patrons that image-shamed a woman publicly, and even made a deplorable statement about her gender, which was intended with the utmost disrespect from what I observed. This environment is not generally welcoming to women who aren’t regular...

Love this place. The atmosphere is calm and everyone is always laughing and having fun. The owner is very nice and you can tell he cares about his customers. He treats just about everyone like family. I love the pool tables. They are some of the best pool tables compared to other bars in San Antonio. If you have never experienced it. I suggest you should.
