This little place is built inside of an old connex box/ rail road car. The guys working the counter were very enthusiastic and eager to help. I ordered three sliders of different flavors, my son ordered a katsu chicken sandwich and the wife ordered the tenders. We ordered a large fry to share. First off, one sider would have been enough for me two if i was REALLY hungry. The best flavor of the three for me was the katsu. My son's katsu chicken sammich was insane. It was like a whole chicken with a small bun. We literally cut his chicken into thirds and made him a sandwich out of that. It was more than enough and had 2/3rds to take home. My wife's tenders were the Asian hot and she loved them, of course there were too many to eat. The large fries were very good and were enough for all three of us. The wife and i had water cups and my, son a Mexican coke. Total was $58. I thought was a little steep until i saw the quantity of food that came out... Wow. We actually had more take home food than we did at the restaurant. ALL the food was good; some of the best I've had in San Antonio. The guys working the place were great and very friendly. Indoor seating is limited to a little bar maybe 3 seats but very crowded. Most seating is outside under a canopy and water mister.. it was 101deg when we were there and the combo of the canopy and mister made it bearable. In the fall or winter (if you can call what south Texas has as winter) this place would be excellent to eat outside. Food: 9.5/10 (quantity was too much, just wish they would have warned us and we could have shared) otherwise solid 10/10. Flavor off the charts good. Service: 10/10 - great staff, much better that 99% of other San Antonio restaurants Prices: 9/10 - again, we could have saved allot of we had known how big the options were. If we'd known, prices would have been perfect. Atmosphere: 8/10 - indoor seating with AC would be great in the hellish South Texas heat but it is pretty much a food truck atmosphere. Overall 9.5 out of 10.. this place is great! A must go in my opinion in San Antonio if you like chicken. The crew is great, the food is great with lots of variety and prices good. Just be aware, their portions are HUGE.. highly recommended.....
Read moreRead about Krazy Katsu a little while ago, and put it on my to do list with the kids, because of the spicy chicken sandwiches. Wednesday (28DEC2022) for lunch was our first time @ Krazy Katsu. My 2 kids and I ordered the Original chicken sandwich. All 3 of us were surprised at the size of the chicken! It could have easily have enough to do an additional sandwiches. We each could only eat half, and took the rest home.
I told my kids that it remind me of the schnitzel Factory in Kitzingen, Germany back in 96-01. How when you get served the schnitzel overlapped the (large) plates.
My rating is 4+
Original chicken sandwich taste real good, and it comes as a spicy level 1. We are most definitely coming back to this location, and we're going to try a spicy level 2 next time. It was not crowded during the time we went, could be because of the holidays (not sure). Nice location and area. If you like spicy chicken sandwiches, you will not be disappointed.
When I was ordering, I feel like there was a miscommunication on my part. The cashier asked if I wanted fries, I said yes. But I really think that I didn't projected my voice enough. When I got up to ask for a to go box for our leftovers. I inquired about the fries cashier checked, and told me that I was not charged for fries. I honestly was fine about it, because we were full. Sat back down at our table outside. Shortly thereafter I think a manager and/or owner. Gave us some fries to go. I honestly didn't expect this and didn't felt there was a need to do that. I told the guy that we didn't pay for it and he said it's okay. I think he wanted to make up for the misunderstanding.
Thank...
Read moreStopped by for a Sunday lunch. As soon as I walked in, was immediately greeted by Jason. He asked if it was our first time, then immediately explained the concept, different sandwiches, and the various toppings. He also allowed us to sample the cucumbers, blue cheese, and Gochujang sauce to see how they'd taste in the sandwich. His passion for the food was amazing and definitely inspired me to try a little bit of everything
Since he made everything sound so good, ordered 5 different slide chicks, fries, Kewpie Slaw, and Japanese Pickled Cucumbers (Sunomono). Also, ordered a few of the Aguas Frescas from the drink cooler. They also had fresh, frozen drinks that could be made with alcohol or without. I sampled them and they were really good. For the slide chicks, ordered the Asian Hot Honey, K-Pop, Hot Katsu, Anchor, and Last Samurai.
All the sandwiches were amazing. Even for small slide chicks, the sandwiches were still huge. There were very generous cuts of chicken that were both large and thick. The ingredients really complemented the chicken and didn't overwhelm the meat. Each sandwich had its own unique character and taste. I can't even begin to recommend one sandwich over another as they were all good and comes down to personal preference. Even the sides were very good. Next time, I'll probably order some of the dipping sauces so I could taste more of their sauces with each bite of the sandwich.
Overall, amazing service and food. Keep up the passion and great customer service as the food...
