I had my wedding reception here in June 2012, I was on a budget so we did all of the decorating ourselves. The woman in charge of booking and the florist (whom I did not use because she was extremely overpriced) were extremely rude the day of the wedding because we switched a square table and a round table from one corner to another for my cake. Apperantly there is a big difference between a round table and a square table for coffee service (which were the same size). In addition, she rudely threw a table cloth for the table. Also, she wanted the cake in an awkward place under the stairs, although this was never agreed upon or in the contract. When these issues were brought up she felt it necessary to throw in my face that she "let us in at 11 am to decorate out of the goodness of her heart"... As if it affects her in the least, 2 hours prior to the event is not long enough to decorate/set up and have people get ready. I paid for 200 guests and the place was not large enough for tthat amount of seated guests. It seats 182 comfortably. I had to add two tables on the dancefloor to accomodate. What did not make sense to me was that the place is a venue that should accomodate guests and keep them pleased, ESPECIALLY if they are paying close to $46.00 per person for 200 guests. I was not making any outrageous requests and was extremely courteous to them although they were extremely rude.

The service once these women were gone was outstanding. The woman who was in charge of the event that evening was extremely helpful and things ran smoothly. Our food was tasty, we had grilled chicken with brazier marinade, rosemary roasted potatoes and vegetables served with buiscuits. the vegetables were simply steamed so they didn't have much flavor, but everything else tasted great, everyone...

We called ahead of time to get permissions to have a picnic on the grounds, and received the go ahead. The day of, we were greeted by aggression, rudeness, cold heartedness, and threats to call the police. Mind you, we were perfectly polite, as we were having a beautiful day. The picnic set up was a surprise for my partners birthday, so the entire situation was a huge disappointment.

I completely understand there are regulations and we had every intention of respecting them, which is why we did our due diligence and got clearance ahead of time. I can even understand there being a miscommunication that led to this. What I am truly appalled by though, is the energy these people had towards us. No compassion, no kindness, just extreme aggression, condescending tones, and rude smirks. They treated us as if we were repeat offenders, law breakers, or as if we were causing a disturbance of any kind. We weren’t. We had just walked up to where our picnic was set up, only to see it all being packed up and seeing a lady, apparently an owner, standing over the setup with her arms crossed and the angriest look on her face.

First visit. Lasted two minutes. Never...

This is just a great hidden gem. The place alone is so nice.We had to sign up for the wait line (which you can do online) and it was gonna be awhile...but we went outside to the store they have there, the clothes and other stuff they had were really nice. There was a lot of space to walk around and explore, there like a creek nearby. The restaurant had an upstairs floor with board games and downstairs a super delicious coffee shop. Even an outdoor patio area with games for the smaller kids. We sat down and played lotería (mexican bingo) while we waited. Jorge our waiter was friendly and helpful. The food was too good, the pancakeschef kissies were delicious. We got huevos rancheros, the sauce was great. My kid got the flight of pancakes with 3 different flavors, the PB was good. Wait time is a bit long but it was the weekend,so we expected it to be. It's a great place, good people, overall the fam...

Great place to stroll, enjoy artisnal foods like pastries, coffee, etc...First Friday Farmer's Market has begun the first Friday of every month which will have movie night, as well as, a kettle corn and shaved ice vendor. They are called Alamo City Kettle Corn, they were deelish and happy to hear they deliver and ship. Los Patios is a shady area and has lovely, picturesque views of the 18 acre area. Cool place to take photos. As you walk through the property, towards the back, there's a nice restaurant with outdoor seating AND you'll be pleasantly surprised to learn that the San Antonio River is feet away from the outdoor seating. Great area to enjoy! I, totally, recommend visiting this area when you're in town. If you live in San Antonio, what are you waiting for!? 😊
