I am adamantly for support of local small businesses, especially local dive bars in town—they’re one of the best places to meet some of the best locals. My absolute FAVORITE dive bar in town is the thirsty turtle, hands down! The owners actually own a few more dive bars in town (which I’ve also been to), but the turtle is my go-to. The bar has 4 really great bartenders that I love and trust whether I’m there alone or with a group—Lilly, Morgan, Kat and Welcome (yes, that is his real name). They’re fantastic! Professional, fast, and truly know how to keep control of the bar and patrons. It truly is that little neighborhood bar where you’ll meet some great people, and eventually everyone will know your name. If you ever see me at the bar, stop by and I’ll recommend a couple custom drinks that are fantastic!

I only gave it 4 stars because it was very mellow. The bartenders were super nice and were great with mixing the drinks. The music was very diverse so that’s a plus being an African American in Texas. They went from country to hip hop real quick lol. They do have photos on the wall that only show one race though so idk man lol parking is maybe 20 people max. It was kind of dark heading there though . Needs more street lights but that’s not their fault tbh. Overall it was a nice chill place. A game of pool was $1.50 so that’s lit .

A really nice dive bar, everyone knows everyone around here to the point that makes you feel that you’re in a family gathering. They have pool tables, darts and lots of everyday specials. Seating area and restrooms are super clean Mariah was the bartender when I was there. She was super attentive and really nice. This is a nice hidden spot around San Antonio airport if you’re around then you must try it out.

I have enjoyed my visits to The Thursty Turtle. A roomy and nicely kept establishment with friendly staff and patrons the atmosphere is warm and the vibe is welcoming. Gathering with friends or just riding solo the music is good and loud enough to have to lean into the cutie you came in with lol. Young and old balance the ages here. Not one way or the other. It seems everyone blends together well here. Doesn't feel like a judgment zone of any one genre but a sweet mix of everyone and every flavor. Pool tables are open to play without league interference and dartboards to hit the sweet spot of friendly competition. Trivia night. Yummy popcorn too. Enjoy. Located within 410 tucked just enough off the main highway surrounded by residential homes this is a nice spot to be yourself. Outside patio offers us smokers the...

So we stumbled upon this bar. Which we actually pass buy quit often. Especially since we stop at the gas station right next to it. I liked the layout. There is bar seating, plenty of tables around, lots of TV screens, a pool area, dart boards, and outside seating. I liked the drink specials! You definitely want to try the Jäegermeister bombs! Throw it back fast. Lol 😂 The pool tables here are different from others I’ve played at. You pay for the amount of games you want to play. For example: 5 games for 5 dollars, but you can also play more such as 10 or 20 games I think. Don’t quote me on that lol. Service was good after we finally got a bartender to help us. The music and atmosphere was very chill which I enjoyed. Be advised the drinks are a little pricey but worth it for a...
