I would give zero if I could. Our family includes small children and we were especially excited to see the remodel. I dont particularly love the food at McDonalds, but go as a mom for my kids to have a safe place to play. This is not that place. During the hour we were there, 3 children fell from a specific spot on the play area. Its blue back and forth curves go from the ceiling to the floor with entrances at the top and bottom for them to climb. I watched 2 children fall, the first one hitting his head on the ledge before falling to the ground. I guess they were about 2-3 years old. The parents took them out immediately and left to care for them. The second child, same age, fell, clung to the edge before hitting the ground and his mom helped him. There again, she left with him immediately to care for him. Finally, my 8 year old fell, hitting her ribs. I decided at this point to bring it up to the manager because I would hate for other children to get severe injuries from this. This is where most of my complaint lies. My husband and I both were treated as inconvenient liars. We asked for ice for my daughter, who was in pain, and they said they dont carry ice packs. So we asked for ice in a bag. Then we filled out an incident report at the suggestion of the counter worker, the only competent and compassionate employee we worked with in this scenario. The management tried to avoid us during the entire time, ignoring me initially and trying to hide in the back office instead of dealing with my husband. We would have left after my daughter was hurt, but I wanted to let them know how dangerous it was for kids so no one would sustain serious injury. We were told by the manager that no one has complained since it's been opened so we were the problem. I am a small business owner in the hospitality industry who is familiar with dealing with incidents and liability. If I was treat safety of my patrons as callously and with such unprofessionalism as the likes we recieved, we would be out of business and for...
Read moreThis particular location on Bandera and 1604 has a bad problem with timely attending folks awaiting to order food on either lane of their drive thru. This is the third time I have seen this issue happen, and with that being the case, I can't imagine how much more often during the day this happens. People will be made to wait for service while the other lane is attended to. If you are going to do that then why have 2 drive thru lanes open? As an example, is not unusual to see 4 or 5 cars on the right lane get their orders taken and drive up, while the other lane is made to wait with no explanation. This is extremely rude and insulting (as it tells you that they truly don't care about your business or your time). I never post negative reviews, but today this location did it once again, and nobody there seemed interested in offering a simple apology or explanation. I arrived with no cars behind me or to my right, nevertheless nobody seemed available to take my order after 5 minutes of waiting, then another car arrives to the window to my right, and their order gets taken immediately. This occurred 3 times while cars started backing up behind me, before finally someone was heard on the speaker tell me to wait and that they will be right back to take my order. At that point I just decided to leave without ordering because I ran out of time. I don't blame the workers for this issue, but I do blame management for allowing this behavior to occur so often. I know that one person's time and bad review is probably meaningless for the people working at this location and chances are that it won't change a thing. Nevertheless, this is the type of customer service problem that is slowly taking away the incentive for people to choose that McDonald's location over places like Wendys, Cannes, Chick-fil-A or Sbux near by, where this never or rarely happens. I myself not going back to that Mcds just to be treated...
Read moreFirst time I ever visited this McDonald's today. Just finished a long drive back home from work. I was the first in line with a simple order of the two sausage biscuits. Upon waiting several people came in after me. 1st a group of senior citizens then 3 individual gentleman. All of which obviously placed their orders some time after me. However all of the people left before me! It made no sense! There was an older gentleman next to me who is an employee who they referred to as Mr. Rogers. He became irate at the sight of me standing there waiting impatiently and began to consult with his employees behind the counter. However nothing but excuses were given. First it was "we will have it out right away" then it was "oh we are waiting on fresh hash browns" then it was "we are waiting for fresh cookies" I didn't even order any damn cookies! What the heck was the hold up? All in all I sat there waiting total of 17 minutes for just 2 sausage biscuits. I am a very patient man. However when I see people who come in the store after me and ORDER THE SAME THING as me and leave before me? Something is going super wrong. Even the people in the drive thru ordered the same sausage biscuit combo and they left before me as well. All in all. Horrible first time experience. I'm sure it doesn't happen all the time, but if someone were to ask me to recommend this McDonald's I would direct them to the one on Guilbeau down the street or the one on Babcock. The longer drive would be well worth the assurance that I would receive...
