This was our first time trying Wayback and will be our last!!
We ordered through Favor for dinner. We ordered a Big Easy, 3 double bacon cheese burgers, 2 regular fry, 2 Cajun tots, 2 fried pickles, and 2 cheese curds.
2 of the Double Bacon Cheeseburgers came with ABSOLUTELY NO BACON! We did not get the order of the cheese curds. We did not get one of the orders of fried pickles.
My son took a couple of bites of his burger and complained it tasted funny or bad, and he threw it in the trash. My other son complained about his Cajun tots tasting like old Tony Chachere's seasoning and pickle juice and said his burger could have been better. I tried a couple of bites of my burger and fries, and it didn't taste right/ good, and I threw mine in the trash. My wife tried calling to complain but was put on hold for a while and then when she did speak to someone she was told there was no manager available and they would have to call back....This was a Tuesday evening at 6pm. Once my wife finished with her conversation, she was so upset that we had thrown out our food because of the taste and now her food was cold, she threw hers out also because she didn't want to chance her food tasting bad.
The poorly prepared food, the lack of attention to detail on our order and missing items, and communication with the restaurant and management was a profound disappointment.
We are still waiting for a manager to call back so we can discuss this issue and refund our meal.
Update to previous review on 05 March 2024. Now it is 02 April 2024.
I followed the instructions provided in the response and emailed the franchise and explained in detail what was wrong and submitted it. I received a standard reply that they are thankful for my response and feedback and they will forward it to the franchise owner. All I can say is the franchise owner obviously does not care about the customer and has not made a single attempt to contact me even though I provided multiple ways to contact me to discuss this. There was no attempt to even try and rectify the poor experience. I don't understand how people still frequent this establishment with all the bad reviews that I have read through already. For every good review it seems there are 2-3 bad reviews.
Once again, waiting for management or someone from corporate offices to actually contact me to see how they deal with this...
Read moreWhere to start. I really was hoping this place would be great but it was just disappointment. Ordered through the app, got there at 12:15. Food was supposed to be ready at 12:30 and it wasn't until 1:22. This was because the ticket didn't print in the back. That'd be fine except I was checked on 3 times where I gave them my name and they went and "checked on the order". It was about 45 minutes in after they checked on it that they told me they didn't have a ticket. After that they didn't prioritize getting the food out until I asked about it again. They finally handed me my bag which I'm glad I checked because it was missing all the sauces and the Mac n cheese bites. When I told them they just told me they were out and then asked if I wanted a refund. They were just going to hand a customer a bag with missing food they paid for to leave with because they were out of what they ordered... What? Once they updated the ticket to take the one item off (no offer for to help make up for the ticket blunder and hour wait I might add) and got me my sauce I was off. I ordered the chili cheese burger and the fries onion ring mix. The onion rings were just kinda bad, they weren't exactly soggy but they had no crunch - flabby is how I'd describe it. The burger wasn't anything special, definitely not worth what they charge for it. The fries were decent, though. Restaurant seemed clean although I did watch one of the employees drop ice out onto the counter and just scraped it back into the ice bend and then proceeded to leave the ice scoop on the bare counter. I'm not exactly sure why most of the employees have masks when they were pulled down a majority of the time and some of the kitchen staff didn't have one at all - that was just a confusing message. The technical issue aside, it's the service and the food that drove me to give this 2 stars. If you haven't tried it, I'd just...
Read moreThe restaurant closes at 10:00 pm and I arrived there at about 8:20 pm on a Friday. They were NOT selling shakes because on Saturday they were going to have a promotion so they were preparing for the promotion. It does not make any sense that they were not selling shakes because of the the promotion the next day. I ordered a Classic Burger with one patty and onion rings; I don't recall the burger my daughter ordered, and my son ordered a child's burger with ketchup and tomatoes only. The order was delivered to our table timely, together and accurately. My burger appeared to be the same size as my sons child's size burger (so a little on the small side). The bun was much larger than the patty. The bun looked great but is served cold (ok not a big deal) and truly did not have much flavor. The beef patty was slightly overdone and dry. All of the condiments were squirted in the middle of the burger with zero effort to distribute the sauces. Overall my burger was on the tasteless and dry side. My onion rings were on par for what was expected, however they are not going to be winning any awards any time soon. Both my children thought their food was ok. I tried a few fries, but not recall anything specific about them. Both my kids are pretty good eaters and enjoy burgers, so they were not disappointed. Although my daughter (age 14) later said "I don't think were need to go back to that place." The staff appears to enjoy each others company which helps with the friendly vibe. The staff was helpful and friendly. They could use some coaching regarding table clean up. Other patrons would leave and the staff would push the chairs in, but made no effort to clean the table (it is a dispose your own trash type of place). There are so many good burger places in San Antonio that it does not make any sense to return to this place. I will avoid...
