Picture this:
It's 11:30pm, and my mom has summoned me in order to aquire her some cheesecake to take to her boss for her birthday. My mom and I both live in Pipe Creek, but I was in town so I agreed to this. However, I was unaware that HEB, Walmart, and every other place that sells cheesecake was closed.
Desperately searching for some sort of drive through cheesecake dealer, I happened across the ihop menu, where I was unable to determine if they had cheesecake, but noticed that they had crepes!
Now I know what you're thinking, "don't all ihops have crepes?". Perhaps in San Antonio they do, but I am from the Crackhead capital of the United States (Spokane Washington), which had very few ihops - all of which discontinued their crepes.
Without hesitation, I whipped my car around the block and sped down to road to the nearest ihop location. Upon entry, I was greeted by a sort of ruggid looking man (I believe he said that his name was Kellie? I'm sort of deaf to be honest so I'm probably wrong), but the kind that you can tell has a soft heart. After grabbing the nighttime menu, I asked him if they had cheesecake. He informed me that they in fact did not sell the one item that triggered my main quest. I explained that I needed some kind of desert item that my mom could take to her boss in the morning (preferably cake). He immediately stopped what he was going to do, turned around, advised me to abandon the nighttime menu, and aided me in finding a resolve for my incredibly minor first world problem.
He located the dessert menu, and explained that those were the ones they had. After sitting down, he offered me coffee -which of course I couldn't reject because I literally survive on caffeine- and listened to yet another one of my questions/special requests.
I asked if they made the crepes at night (I did not explain why), to which his reply was "no, but I can do that for you". This man, singlehandedly, made my entire year (to date since it's April). Especially on this very night, where I had an emotionally draining day and just wanted to go home. And here this savior is offering to make me crepes, even though it's not on the menu for his shift.
He offered to grab me one of the desserts while I wait, of which I devoured immediately. Before I left, we had a short conversation about the music, which I loved by the way. Oldies is my sh*t and I was so relieved to not hear the same annoying pop songs you hear everywhere else.
I then bid him adue, went on my merry way, and drove the endless route home. After climbing up my mom's horrid excuse of a driveway, and getting inside, I was eager to sit down and stuff my face with these crepes! Upon doing so, I noticed that the cake was missing. Which was sort of devistating at first, but then I realized it made for a funny story in the end. Plus, mistakes happen - if they didn't, we wouldn't have erasers.
I couldn't have asked for better customer service, and I am eager to go back again (at night because I hate the daytime crowds).
So if you see some weirdo hiding in the corner at 12am playing sudoku, it's...
Read moreMy wife and I had breakfast on Monday, December 5th 2022 at IHOP at 16000 block of BANDERA RD.
BEWARE Of The SCRAMBLED EGGS!! IHOP is RIPPING US OFF!!
The eggs we ordered didn’t taste good. They had a very artificial taste. I asked the waitress I the eggs were real eggs. She told us that they were “LIQUID EGGS” I looked up the definition of LIQUID EGGS. I found following information online(Sorry but the following I a little long: From YSK 2005: YSK: the quality of liquid egg products are significantly lower than eggs sold in their shells. “To begin, the eggs are brought to the processing plants from one of three locations.
1: the farm. Eggs are shipped to the plant often covered in fecal matter and dirt. The eggs are not washed before they are stored in giant refrigerated rooms in what are stacks of plastic or cardboard egg crates.
2: supermarket rejected eggs. These eggs are clean but were refused because they were too cracked or too close to their expiration date.
3: farm reject eggs. These eggs are very low quality, usually produced during the final egg laying cycles for older chickens. These eggs are profoundly low quality and often have a sour smell.
Now securely stored in large refrigerated rooms the eggs will sit for days while the plant processes eggs that have been on site the longest. The system is actually reasonably well designed to deal with the quantity of eggs needed to be processed. The eggs will be stored for between 8 to 20 days depending on orders. Over half of these eggs were considered "old" prior to storage.
Once an batch of eggs is up to be processed they are moved onto the processing floor, which is another slightly less refrigerated room and loaded onto machines. Pallets of egg crates are put into a machine by hand where they move via a conveyor belt into a warm water bath with soap where they get a light brush from automated brushes.
This cleaning system isn't very effective for very dirty eggs and rejects are removed by hand. Workers (two per line) watch the eggs move over bright lights where they attempt to remove eggs still covered in fecal matter, those with blood, or those dark over the light (rotten) eggs. Most bad eggs are removed at this point, however enough make it through for the next human workers on the chain to have a job.
The USDA imposed a figure for how much fecal matter can make its way into the breaker machine, and far too often that figure is exceeded and workers aren't payed nearly enough to care.”
The LIQUID EGGS DEFINITION is not on the menu. Best to order eggs over...
Read moreMy first negative review. I had an online order, received the notification to pick it up at 11:02 and I marked "on the way" from app like you can, get there they had no record of it, but money was pulled from my account and I had an order number. We waited 10 mins before being assisted first bad sign, then no order found. Next we continue to wait for assistance after no order found , then it was like no one could, or wanted to assist since they couldn't find the order. No accountability what so ever. A quick pick up order for 11:02p had us waiting just to be ignored, or pushed off until at 11:58p. Mind you the meal was paid for and proof provided but they still could not find order. Okay fine after 30 mins now, no kind of customer service provided ni offer to make food, nada. Just rude and ignored, pushed off service. Had one super rude server, no help. Manager no help he's yelling because he had to be called to front...Literally yelling Barely spoke and said we" we fired a cook, working on it" then just walked away. Waited to no avail, no food, no service but they have my $55. Manager never comes back server was informed to release me call corporate from the yelling person in back of restraunt. The only person to help and at least give me assistance on how to get in contact with corporate number to get my refund, because still no food or option to make it, was Cassie. She a fill-in, that's not her location she works somewhere else, which you could tell since she had great customer service skills and professionalism. Cassie had to call another store for the number they didn't have it there. This place has gone down, customer service, food, presentation and it has been my IHOP for over 10 yrs I use to love the folks. My...
