I was severely disappointed about this restaurant. Upon entering, you are greeted by a bus person scraping down plates and leaving them out in the air until the bin is full. This occurred behind one of the two entrance doors. Then came the realization that prices were high and that a tip was expected. It was easy to see because all of this happens slowly as one waited in line (a long line that never subsided) to order from two cashiers not at all interested in moving the line forward. Drinks were canned, except for the tea and coffee which was inconveniently located next to a busy kitchen door on one side and a bathroom on the other. Chips and salsa are not provided, nor are there proper utensils and napkins. Make sure you grab your salt and maybe pepper from the drink station. Salsa must be ordered at the counter at first order or the women give you the evil eye. They may have adjusted for COVID, but never went back to serving customers. If COVID was the reason, then that did not apply to social distancing in line or at the cramped table set up. A few people were served, but not for disability reasons, but because they were affiliated with the establishment. I ordered 3 tacos for $11 not including my drink. The barbacoa was dry as if it had been boiled. The carne guisada contained way too much salt, and the potato and egg tacos again seemed dry like boiled potatoes and liquid egg. No flavor or moisture. I ate 2 bites of my bbq, 1/2 of my carne guisada and 2 bites of the potato/egg taco. The tortillas were great, I should have just ordered the tortillas, but I'm sure the butter would have been fake in a mini tub. Also, they were out of coffee creamer. What! The tables are bare, no condiments and the tray You(yes self service) are given the meal on takes all the table space. I placed mine under my chair lest I go to the tea station one more time to deliver their trays conveniently back to the cashier station. I hope the trays are washed. Oddly at one point a man came out and sprayed Febreeze in front of the coffee/kitchen exit. That really helped the flavor of the food. I was told this was a famous local taco haunt. It only seemed to be haunted by it's past greatness, when there were more locations than this. Advice. Just order a dozen tortillas and find your...
Read moreMan this is one in a handful of accounts that I can think of that Panchitos has highly disappointed. I came to eat with my three grandchildren and my elderly mother. Mom ordered a chicken soft toaco plate, the boys and I ordered a fedio combo bowl and two teas for total of $33.81. This is where things went south....1) I had to fix a dancing table. Then the order was ready, there were NO spoons to use to eat the fideo with. Oh but you are supposed to get it yourself. Cool no problem BUT MAKE IT AVAILABLE. A gaggle of women (workers) behind the counter say. All that was needed was for them to point as airline stuartresses do when showing the exit sites on an air flight. I continued to say and LOOK over to the area where the plastic utensils are kept, "There are no spoons for the soup." Again, as to be shut up I was told, "No, no they are right there where you get the tea and water." No I say again, this time I point to the same area where the UTENSILS SHOULD BE BUT AREN'T, there are no spoons there. Not skipping a beat I was told, "There's more on the other side." Mind you I had walked over with my meal to have it made to go since I was not going to drink my HOT soup.
But of course no pride, no shame, no dignity, no respect for the customer nor for the place that employs you. I was given much sass and argumentative remarks and handed a glass to transfer my soup and take it to go. My mother wanted chile for her meal and asked one of the boys to get it for her. He was told yet again, it's on the other side of the restaurant. He looked and couldn't find any chile. He asked again, this time he was told they ran out of chile. Wild, it is only 10:35am and they are out of spoons and chile for the day and closing is at 3pm?!! The boys ate their fideo with FORKS!! But, boys will be boys, guess they would use their fingers if need be...LOL as long as they eat. I figure the mentality around here is..YOU ORDERED, YOU PAID, NOW GET THE...
Read moreFor Sunday 10/14/2018 ,11:43 am . . . .The food is good BUT the process of getting your food is very confused & troubling 🤔 You get a number for your order & if you're lucky you put that number on your table & wait , this is especially if the place is crowded . Trouble is it's crowded 😕 So , your food could pass you by unbeknownst to the customers,as I saw repeatedly . The young staff would get the food tray & go on the hunt for the number 😒 NOT a GOOD PROCESS 😕 THE ONLY SHINNING STAR IS LIZA 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊 She took over the trays if in her general area !! She is TRULY a DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH !!! FANTASTICO WORKER !!!! WHY you say !?!?! Cause while she did this she also : cleaned tables, got refills for their drinks , asked how the food was or asked them for their number & thus stayed on top of their order !!! Whatever it was SHE attended to the customers 🤗 She is awesome !!! She does all this with a smile too !!!! However, there was one time that the smile vanished 😕 That was because another older worker was telling her what to do 😕 Clearly a control person cause I never saw her smile to anyone 😕 Why was she ordering Liza around 🤔🤔🤔 Clearly LIZA needs no direction at this position . Perhaps LIZA needs training in a Management Position because she is TOTALLY FOCUSED ON THE CUSTOMER !!! SO PLEASE TIP HER & ANY HARD WORKING STAFF . . . . QUESTION : Why ???? Why ???? Why ????? Why Is there NO waiters at this location like at their other location at 4100 McCullough Ave . ????? It works there ,so why not...
