Regina's Diner — Restaurant in San Antonio

Cute and clean little place. Servers are very sweet and greet you as you walk in! I went in the morning and ordered the migas and my grandpa ordered the special which was the Fideo Loco. I was not impressed at all unfortunately but hear me out before you make your judgements. I like to take my grandparents out to eat. This was a perfect portion for elderly people 80 and over. It was a small bowl. He did finish off my plate though so maybe it was too small for him?!?!? For myself if I had ordered that I would have been extremely dissatisfied. Bring me the pit yiu made it in! Jk. My migas plate had good portions. Beans were bland, no flavor. The potatoes had the chorizo flavor but missing salt. The migas were perfect. Egg was cooked well and the chips were crispy which I favor. HOWEVER...the cheese?!?!? They didn't even melt it all the way. I was laughing as the lady said the plate was hot. I grabbed the plate and it was far from hot. It was seasoned perfectly though I will give it that! The tortillas were just sad. Paper thin and burned. Would I go back by myself with my husband absolutely but would I take my grandparents? ABSOLUTELY! Wife and I went to try. Food was decent but customer service sucks badly. Have young family members working the register. Not a care in the world. Would rather be on phone making plans going somewhere. Kept begging mother that apparently works there, if she can go. Witnessed another customer that came in By themselves. Ordered and when received order. It was made wrong. She tried getting one or any one of staff to attend to her. Took about 5 mins. Even I was going to get up ask if she needed something. We received our order and was never attended anymore. Yes it was busy. Apparently if you are a party of 4 or more. Their attention goes to them. I usually leave $15-20 tip but they got no tip. Fix your attitudes and learn customer service. Management needs to learn. Business needs to have people that care to survive. So we will not return and we will not recommend this place. We will stick to other restaurants near by. Like tea's taco hut. And even...

The experience has changed, somewhat, when compared to their grand opening. Back then, the food was delicious, hot, staff was very friendly. Perfect atmosphere and clean.

Today, the food has deteriorated in taste, portions and just overall quality and value. We ordered several breakfast tacos today, to go. The potato and chorizo taco is a complete joke, my advice is to not order it. Made up completely of potato and almost absent chorizo. Bean and cheese, potato and egg, chorizo and egg tacos are pretty good when you're hungry, but are mid at best.

The last time we dined in, they were busy. Took them about 5 to 10 minutes just to bring drinks and take our order. Drink order was incorrect but food was hot.

I like giving second chances, I'll give it one more try. Here's hoping they do...
