Subway — Restaurant in San Antonio

FOOD: *Now that Subway is slicing their own meats in the stores rather than than having pre- packaged meats, the subs seen a bit fresher. I got the club foot long, which comes with Black Forest ham, Roast Beef, & Turkey. The meat was pre-sliced. It was razor thin. I could taste the hame and turkey, but not the roast beef. *I chose the herb bread. It was fresh. *I had the sandwich toasted, which I recommend. I taste better warm and melts the cheese. *You get to choose between pepper jack, provolone, & white American cheese. I was disappointed because my wife likes shredded cheddar, which they used to have.I opted for white American for her sandwich, while I had pepper jack. They put three slices on each sandwich; no complaint. *You choose your toppings; lettuce, tomato, cucumber, bell pepper, purple onion, pickles, and banana pepper rings. The wife had lettuce & tomsto; plenty put on. I chose lettuce, tomato, onion, & banana ring peppers; plenty. *You choose your condiment; Southwest Mustsrd, Mayo, Ranch, Honey Mustard, Creamy Garlic, Vinegarette, & Teriyaki. I chose Honey Mustard. Plenty used. I was dusappointrdvtgar they no longer have avocado -- like a guacamole consistency tha you could add to your sandwich.

SERVICE: The girls, only 2 of them, were ok. They were a little rote, no real chat, & and no cheerful demeanor. They need to enjoy their job, exude some cheerfulness, & schmooze a nit more.

ATOMSPHERE: The place is dimly lit, but...

FOOD: The food was good, but the order was not correct. I ordered 1 Foot-Long sub with double chicken and double bacon. My wife said it wasn't the rotisserie chicken and was turkey.

My cold cut Foot-Long was made correctly.

Since we ordered the extra chicken (and give turkey) and extra bacon, the cashier said we get two free cookies. No cookies were found when I got home .

The lady msking the sandwiches needs to pay closer attention to what is ordered. I should have double-checked as well.

The food gets 4 stars for taste.

SERVICE: While yhe employees are friendly, the error in what was ordered brings yhe service to 3 stars. The gentleman, who seemed to be a lead employee, was working hard tidying up the chips, but he could have jumped in and helped make sandwiches. There was only one lady besides him. I watched her make 5 sandwiches for the lady ahead of me and my 2 sandwiches for a total of 7.

ATMOSPHERE: The place was clean and employees friendly. 5 start worthy.

Maybe the woman making my wife's sandwich was frustrated having to make all the sandwiches while the gentleman was busy tidying up.

I will be back because the food was tasty. The order error was disappointing, but my wife did enjoy the turkey & bacon sub.

When adding toppings to the sub, the employees failed to tell me avocado is an up-charge of $1.50....

I stopped on my way home to grab a quick bite to eat for me and my wife. She had the chicken bacon ranch on wheat bread. There was very little chicken on it.the bacon appeared to be undercooked. This may be because you may want the sandwich toasted. It was toasted,in fact it was toasted way too much. The bread had a burnt look and taste. My other sandwich was meatball on wheat. The meatballs were very small. It was toasted and was not burned. I felt the staff was a little pushy on the double meat. They asked if wanted to add pepperoni to the meatball sandwich. I felt it was alright to ask once however it was asked two to three times. I mean how many times do you have to say no. If i wanted it i would have said yes the first time. I definitely do not recommend this or any subway sandwich shop. Do yourself a great favor and go to firehouse sandwich shop. Plenty of meat,large choice of condiments. A portion of money spent goes toward supporting emergency services....
