On April 23, 2025, I ordered 6 taquitos with sausage. The cashier rang up 6 drinks. The manager had to come and void them. No problem, mistakes happen.
When I got home and my wife and I were eating the taquitos, we noticed they were quite greasy. We discovered that they had given us chorizo and not sausage.
On the 24th, my wife called about the matter. The manager on duty, Nicole said to put her name on the receipt and come in for a remake.
On the 25th, I came in and spoke to the manager on duty. She verified the call my wife made and agreed to the remake. She was very polite.
I also noticed on my original receipt from the 23rd that my name, Brian, was spelled Brain. I guess the cashier was having a tough night. I never like to get too upset because you never know what might be going on in his life. Any miriad of things could be going on; illness, family issues, new to the job, etc..
I want to thank Nicole for her approval of remaking the taquitos. I also want to thank the night manage on the 25th for being courteous and seeing that the remake was done. I realize that anybody can read a manager's name badge and say they were told by that person a remake would be done. People can lie. I know know because I work retail and customers try to say some good was bad and half of the container is empty. Or they'll buy a vacuum around the holidays to use, and then they bring it back stating it doesn't do the job well. They'll want cash back, not a credit to be used at the store. I'm merely saying that there are scammers.
Kudos to the managers at Whataburge on SE 1604 @ IH37.
I still give the food 5 stars because chorizo is naturally greasier. We just prefer sausage.
UPDATE: 8-1-25 FOOD: Fresh, proper temperature, and fries were fresh / not greasy. SERVICE: Speedy; I placed my to go order at the counter, and it was in my hands between 5 & 7 minutes. The cashier Briana F. was very sweet and cordial. She is definitely a great one to have at the counter taking orders. Great first impression for customers. ATMOSPHERE: The restaurant was very clean. Buc-ee's touts thry have the c k eanest restrooms. This Whatsburger can say they have the ckeabest hamburger restaraunt restrooms. The men's restroom was "hospital" clean.
The only complaint is that when I hit home, no ketchup I for tge fries was found. Both my fault for not asking for it and the cashier's fault for not asking if I needed it.
THIS WHATABURGER IS BY FAR THE BEST WHATABURGE I've been to, and I've visited several.

FOOD: The burgers were great. I got the Jalapeño Cheese Burger, and my wife got the Double Meat Cheese Burger. Shevlikes hers dry eith lettuce and pickle only. Burgers were made as ordered.
The e fries were not near as good as usual. They were luke warm at best and tasted as they had been sitting a bit too long. 3.75 ☆☆☆+. Yes, the fries dropped the score a bit.
ATMOSPHERE: The place was spotless. Still the cleanest Whataburger in all of Bexar County. 5☆☆☆☆☆.
SERVICE; The gentleman taking my order was cordial. I ordered my food to go. He asked if I needed ketvhup.and I said yes. He asked if. I wanted spicy ir regular. When the uoung lady called my name, she had to ask if I needed ketchup. Itbwasc a good thing she asked, or I would have had no ketchup. There were no wnenbI hot home. I give the service 4 ☆☆☆☆.
Yes. it wasn't a 5 ☆☆☆☆☆ all around, but I'll be will definitely be back.
I give them a break on the fries because the store wasn't busy, and maybe they made more fries than anticipated needing. I understand you don't like throwing fries out because that's wasting money, but...
Read moreI stopped in because my wife was craving tea due to her dry throat and it was humid as well. The place was fairly busy for 9:30 on a Sunday evening. Drive thru was full so, I decided to go in. The dining room had at least 25 people eating and about 4 at the counter.
The problem was, I ordered two teas, both sweet. Both sweet tea urns were bone dry. I asked for more tea at the counter. The young man took both cups and went to the Drive Thru area to fill them. He brought one tea back with a lid. No 2nd tea and continued on his way. Another young man asked to help me. I showed him I ordered 2 teas. He went and got the second. He came back with no lid.
Seems you have some new employees or, minds weren't on task.
Gave them the benefit of being new hires.
Make sure each employee stays focused and completes all tasks with one customer to completion.
One thing to be keenly aware of is to keep all self-serve areas full. Drinks, napkins, lids condiments; etc.
Managers were present. I saw at least 2 team leads. They were both working in the kitchen. Great to see working managers but, one should be on top of the house.
7-29-2023. 11:45 pm The young girl at the register was very efficient. I order one #1 burger meal with lettuce, pickles, and cheese with no ketchup, mayo, or mustard - dry. She didn't ask me to repeat my request. I then ordered one #1 meal all the way. She got it.
There was one customer ahead of me and one in back of me. She rang up all orders in less than 3 minutes. Very efficient and was very courteous. She's a keeper.
The ticket says Alexis H is the cashier. I know someone has to sign on to the register. Sometimes a manager signs on and employees ring up orders. See who was on the far left register at 12:48 pm. She is slender, wears glasses, and her hair length is to the nape of her neck. She needs credit for her efficiency.

I literally just wanted a large fry before I headed home cause I was so hungry but didn’t want to eat too much. No one followed up with me on the app after one standard email on 8/1/2020.
So not long after I still had a craving and decided to take my grandma to get some food on 8/3/2020 from there. We ordered two meals and later I found out they didn’t give my grandma her fries. My grandma talked to someone but never went back retrieve her fries... shes old.. and I was the one who took her initially and wasn’t around anymore.
So leave it till today 8/17/20 and the order was right but the cashier (tall Hispanic male working drive-thru, dark hair, five o’clock shadow, wore a hat but could be bald or very very short hair) was rude. I just went to get two things off the dessert menu and it took me a second to order cause I was looking to make sure I hadn’t mistaken that they carried the item. I ordered within a minute of pulling up and he said “okayyy can I get you anything else” I was like “no thank you” pulled up. He got my card. Handed my order over, I looked back the window with my card being held out, grabbed it and he quickly shut the window. No “hello” to start. No “thank you” or anything. I’m really not picky and I’ve worked at the BK across the road YEARS ago so I know what it is like and don’t act rude. But I was like OK. This Whataburger has had its last straw. Last time of my money.
