Breakfast was so busy, that they extended the time for guests to eat, and every time they ran out of food they prepared additional food to accommodate ALL guests!!! Amy the Mgr. called me by name as she had prepared a plate for my wife (The Queen - My Queen)!!! She saw me conversing with another guest, and realized that I might miss the 2nd round of food because I was witnessing with another guest, and went out of her way to make sure that my wife had something to eat. Where do they do that at??? I'll tell you... At Best Western Plus in Elmendorf Tx. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this hotel, and continue to write home about the staff (whom we know by name, and clearly they know us and grandchildren by name) and their Above and Beyond service!!! We know and Love the staff, and every time we go they show us that they know and Love us!!! There customer service is 2nd to none... and they go out of their way (Always) to provide a HIGH LEVEL of quality and sincere care!!! I checked in August the 4th, the first Indian lady was very professional handling my reservation, most Indians I've encountered was always very disrespectful, I think they have a level of prejudice towards African Americans. Monday through Wednesday was ok, the television started to act up, only one channel was available, i asked the clerk about it, he said cable was down but would be fixed the next day. all of the Spanish staff was very nice, they were over the breakfast and it was good. So Thursday I checked out and hung out in the hotel lobby in high hopes that my truck would be repaired so I could get back to work, the 2nd shift clerk came in and around 5:30 pm he told me I had to check in or leave!! So after contacting the mechanic he informed me my truck wasn't ready so I checked back in. Still only one TV channel available, I delt with it,Friday i checked out, and again hung out in the lobby awaiting news on my truck, not there's a very young Indian girl working the desk, she was on her personal phone the whole time I was in the lobby, so the mechanic informed me that he ran into a problem, so he would purchase my room for that Friday, as I told the young clerk I was ready to check back in i asked her had the cable been repaired, she told me that that wasn't there problem, I asked how is it not and she went berserk!! Yelling and screaming at me, so I got loud as well, she called the so called manager and lied to him saying I cursed her,but I never did, she passed the phone to me and the sorry manager was disrespectful as well told me he's canceling my reservation and I had to leave the property or he's calling the police, I told him to call them, I have not committed any crime, I had already made a reservation elsewhere and was waiting the uber.so avoid this place if you're Black. Read moreThe hotel has good reviews on Expedia & Google that seem to be fake for our experience. The hotel is located in a dirty area of San Antonio, seems like truck drivers mostly stay in that hotel. When I arrived, I entered the hotel for check-in nobody was on the front reception, a lady was cleaning the coffee machine by the breakfast area and say nothing until I asked her if somebody was in the front. I called before letting them know I needed a connecting room and a crib in one of the room. She took forever to check me in saying that no connecting room were available since they only have one and that crib supposed to be in the room. We didn’t get connecting rooms. When we went to our rooms in the second floor we encountered a disgusting combination of cigarette with humidity smell in the hallways. She said that the carpets were cleaned by someone who didn’t do a good job. When entering the room the smell was worse and the carpet was wet, I told the lady that the smell was awful and she made a face. She said I could change rooms to the 3rd floor. At that point (5:30 AM) we were so tired that we just kept the rooms. Rooms smells bad, cleaning was not good at all. Sheets were dirty with stains, dressers were sticky on the top and bathroom was fulls of hairs, furniture is old and full of scratches. When requested the crib again, the lady brought it to the room and it was a joke. A very old-falling apart wooden crib with the old stained mattress on the floor and no crib sheets. The lady threw a normal sheet on top claiming she wasn’t able to find the crib sheet. I asked her to take it back and I had to put my 6 month old baby to sleep in my bed with pillows in the side of the bed so she won’t fall. We had a bad experience at that hotel and the rates aren’t very flexible for what they offer. We booked two rooms so our teens had more space but I didn’t sleep well knowing my teen girls were not close by. Not coming back again...
