Super Donut / Kolache Donut — Restaurant in San Antonio

The owner, Benni, I believe is her name, is so kind and charming. My wife and I love to frequent her bakery after Sunday church, over the nearby Dunkin’ Donuts. She always wears a smile on her face and asks about your day. The dough is always so fresh and the Boudin kolache is the crème de la crème here. The Boudin is a Cajun sausage loosely stuffed with pork, rice and a variety of herbs and spices. She occasionally has surplus donut holes and liberally grants you more than you walked in for. I enjoy the better-than-fresh quality and friendly atmosphere found at this homey hole-in-the-wall eatery. Five golden Yum Yum...

Okay... this is based solely on an unfortunate first impressions during the pandemic. My husband and myself saw the great reviews and were very excited. There is a please wear mask before entry. Great! We walked in and immediately were greeted with a friendly smile with no mask or face covering. Ok, off putting. Then the employee sneezed! We thought ok, she’ll wash her hands. NO! Not even hand sanitizer was used. Gross! Then a face shield was applied with one glove. Questionable to say the least, We left super disgusted and not ordering anything. I’ve had a variety of donuts from SA, and this place is my favorite by far. They are so delicious! Tender, soft, and full of flavor, the donuts have yet to disappoint. The variety and selection is always good. From traditional glazed and cake style donuts, to kolaches and croissant breakfast sandwiches you are sure to find something for everyone. They even have custom filled donuts, and do not skimp on the filling. Yum! The lady is always friendly, cheerful, and works hard to be quick with the orders.
