El norteñito Tacos, tortas bar. What a pleasant surprise. I had heard about this place and seen it on social media and finally tried it. I highly recommend this restaurant for several reasons; the food, the value, service and the atmosphere. The Sunday brunch was outstanding and the price was very accessible, not like other trendy spots in town. The food was excellent. It is not TEX-Mex, not that there is not there is anything wrong with Tex mex, but if you are expecting bean and cheese and carne guisada and cheese enchiladas on the buffet, they don't offer that on the brunch buffet. They do, however, serve ready to order chilaquiles, barbacoa, chicharrón prensado, rajas con queso, papas con chorizo, asado de puerco, huevo rojo y verde plus pancakes and of course fresh flour or corn tortillas. They will also make you eggs to order. The buffet is cafeteria style. You walk up and tell one of the ladies what you want and they plate it for you. The brunch includes a coffee or tea with free refills plus desert; arroz con leche, tres leches and buñuelos. The service was outstanding. The waiters are always coming by and refilling your coffee and taking away your empty plate. The atmosphere was upbeat. They had live music by a famous Mexican singer named Gerado Flores. He was playing upbeat music. The restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. If you get a chance and you are the northwest side of town come give this...
Read moreUPDATE 5/11/25....We went on Sunday for Mother's Day brunch. Tamara was our server. First class service !! She is WONDERFUL!! As is her mom !!
Everything was so good. I had chilaquiles rojos with 2 eggs on top. Beans and guisado and rajas and chicharon en Chile Verde.
Everything, I mean EVERYTHING, was perfectly delicious.
Plus being Mother's Day that had this great artist that sang to all the Moms. So special.
What's a great family oriented nice spot. You need to check this place out.

If you follow me, you know I rarely give all 5's. This place is the exception.
We found the place mistakenly when we were turned off by horrible counter service at a local tamale place.
It certainly is not high end. A good local authentic Mexican food joint. We were pleasantly greeted by Jessica who was a shining example of GREAT customer service. She explained the dishes to us. Even brought us out a sample or two.
The food was something my mom or grandma would have cooked. Perfectly fluffy rice (no clumps here). I had crispy tacos which HAVE to be fried locally not packaged for me to eat. They were perfectly crispy with picadillo.
The service was impeccable. The food was authentic and delicious. We are so glad we inadvertently...
Read moreI went on vacation to San Antonio and vowed to not buy food. We took all the food we would need/ want for the 4 days. But our last day my phone popped up with this place. I’m from SoCal and being in north Texas I have NOT had any amazing so called Mexican food. HOLY BING BONG! Our only meal was here and I was so excited. Food was pure bliss. Their salsa on the table was so good I wish I could have purchased it, next time though ;)! Their chips for salsa are actually pinwheels- drool- so nostalgic of home. My waitress was in her first week of work and was learning English. I know some Spanish so it worked amazing. The manager let us know of these details; shows that she cared about her employees! Epic. My girl had it! First week and she was more perfect than any other server I’ve had in my 2 years in Texas. Food is so amazing, times out perfectly from drinks to apps to entree. Small ish menu -yet amazing options- which means they’ve perfected their plates and don’t have tons of half rotten or frozen food in the back. This place will be my first stop next time I go to the area. Plus the drive there from San Antonio was so beautiful and relaxing. Please go! And tip your...
