For years I looked for good authentic Mexican food in San Antonio, but it was an exercise in futility. El Paso and Houston have real Mexican food, a long drive for lunch. Veronica's is no frills and no rice reeking of cumin. I started to go there for breakfast years ago, and I was never disappointed. What they serve is simple but made the way it's supposed to be, and that's saying a lot. The puffy taco was a real puffy taco, better than any I've ever had. The food is what will bring me...
