If you're ever in San Benito and craving truly authentic tacos, this spot is a hidden gem! I ordered the cazuela for the family, which came loaded with a variety of tacos—trompo, bistek, sirloin, and costilla—each one bursting with rich, savory flavor.

The tacos were on the smaller side, but don't let that fool you—they were packed with flavor in every bite. Each one was topped with classic garnishes: onions, cilantro, and a touch of shredded cheese. The plate also came with grilled onions, papas, and a perfectly charred chile toreado, adding that extra punch that made the whole meal unforgettable.

These tacos instantly took me back to Matamoros, Mexico—the taste, the seasoning, even the presentation felt like something you'd find just across the border. Authentic, delicious, and made with love.

Definitely worth the stop. I'll be back for round two next time I'm...

We were in the neighborhood and ran across the add on FB. It's self proclaimed to be the number one Taco joint in San Benny so I had to drop on in! Tacos La Vaquita is a small taco joint a bit of ways from the highway but they're worth the small drive. The tacitos are small but they're cheap. You can get an order of 5 tacos with an order of beans and a drink for $6.50. That alone is hard to beat! The tacos are good. I'm a sucker for everything trompo so i was pleasantly surprised to see that they cook their trompo in the traditional manner on a spinning, roasting rack. It lends a better flavor when cooked this way and also allows for thinner slices of meat that'll melt in your mouth. If you do decide on eating the trompo tacos, your ganna want to order about 10 because these guys are extra small. The ranchero beans are killer delicious, do get a cup of...

WORST taqueria in San Benito. Do NOT recommend eating this horrible tacos. The person that help me was very rude. After I waited 20 min for my order he send me to park in the front, since I refuse to park in the front for my order he got very upset and treated me very bad. I decided to cancel the order and he said to his Co worker don't worry if the tacos are done we eat them. Wasn't he supposed to give me the order instead of him eating my tacos. He needed to make that comment in front of his customer..On top of that the manager or owner lady listen to the entire conversation and couldn't even apologize for the wrong doing of her employee.. She was more busy selling the limones and probably the salt too, they sell everything in that taqueria don't waste your time going there...

The wait for 8 tacos that are the most commonly ordered was just ridiculous Specially when you we see people at the drive through kept getting their orders served before us or people outside in their cars. Place needs to be cleaned. They also charge more when you use card. It seems like a nominal fee, but it seems bad to tell someone a price and then up the price when you pull out a card. Tacos were super small, only slightly larger than a large lemon and the cheese to meat proportions were off. It was 60-75% cheese. The tacos also just had poor presentation because when you order more, you will get one or two tacos that barely qualify as tacos.
