My family and I are from New York and to me, The pizza is amazing. The view/atmosphere is a vibe. I haven’t been in a while. My family came to visit this past weekend and I have been raving about this place. Of course I brought my family to try some slices before they head home on October 1st. Unfortunately we experienced some very unpleasant, upsetting, rude treatment by the two men that we ordered from. One was a little younger he was mostly working at the bar area after taking our order. The other said he is the manager and managed the other location, Solana Beach, for 25 years. The They both had a very unfriendly, unwelcoming approach. I was shocked and confused. The one that was working the bar area took our order. My sister and I ordered. She greeted him, he did not greet us. He raised his eyebrows and curled his lips. She began making conversation with him about New York pizza naturally because we are from there. He dismissed her/ignored her and asked impatiently, “what can I get for you?”. At this time, I noticed a fly landing on different pizza slices and told the guy. His response was not only surprising but concerning. He said, “oh well the pizza goes in the oven at 400 degrees it will be alright, what can I get you!” No smile, no apology and unfortunately he left the slices that the fly was on, in the case for someone to order. He was very rude. My sister was of course shocked and uncomfortable but ordered anyway because I raved about this place. Of course I’m also shocked and uncomfortable. I apologized to my sister and told her I have never been treated like this here. The times I’ve been there have been in the evening, we came before 12pm this day. I usually order my slices with one side of ranch and one side of marinara. So I ordered the same for my sister and her husband. All together we ordered six slices. So after I asked for the ranch and marinara, “the manager” quickly responded aggressively saying “You have to pay for that!” In a very stern loud and rude tone. I replied ok no problem. Of course, again we felt uncomfortable. He happened to drop one of the cups on the ground because he placed it so roughly on the counter. For some reason these guy’s attitudes and demeanor were very negative and it was very apparent. Every time I have been there they have never charged me for the ranch and marinara. Even when it was my first time there and I offered to pay for it, they were so welcoming and said “no don’t worry about it” so of course I put the money in there tip jar. And every time after they still never charged me. My sister and I were still very kind to the men. We paid and waited for our food there. After getting our food and sitting down, the “manager” came to the table and gave the two dollars that we paid for the sides with back. We were confused again. We thought ok maybe he realized they were rude, felt bad and he’s going to apologize. Anyway I don’t think I will be going back there again. As much as I like the pizza, the service/treatment is more important, especially in my community that I have lived in for over twelve years. I can’t support a business who doesn’t take pride in the customer service let alone in a community that brings them regulars. Every person I have encountered prior to this experience has been kind and very welcoming. I believe the owner is a female, I spoke to her once, she was helping out, and took my order. She was also very kind. So I’m giving 2 stars because the pizza was yummy but the service was extremely horrible. I hope I can forget this experience. So...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I stopped by this place and got so disappointed. I wish I could give 0 out of 5.
We got garlic knots for togo. While we waited our order, the guy with red sox hat who was making ours asked us if we wanted marinara sauce or ranch, and we said marinara sauce. He suddenly asked us where we are from, and we said San Diego. Then he asked like "No your family." As soon as we said "Korea", he kept asking us such weird questions such as "You guys don't have ranch?" We felt so offended because the way he said was more like asking if we don't have ranch in my country. I didn't get why we should have had such an unnecessary and rude conversation with him. The food we got was even terrible. The plastic lids melted onto the knots making a big hole in the lids and the knots were burnt and really hard. After having those experience, I asked the cashier if I could talk to the manager. I explained the whole situation to the manager and told her that I felt this was racism and I wanted to get apologize from him. Then she said "I'm sorry but I need to hear from him too" even though I explained everything and how uncomfortable I felt because of what he said. That guy also shouted at me saying "I didn't mean it" while working and didn't say sorry. The manager said she could give us free food, which made me more mad because I wan't complaining about this to get free food. I just didn't want to stay there longer, so I left my phone number with my name so that she can listen from him and have him apologize to us. But I haven't still got any response from them yet. The manager said his...
Read moreI love this spot! After hiking around Torrey Pines this is a great spot to swing by for lunch. They have a menu board in front which tells you the price for 1 slice, 2 slice, and then if you want a combo (add a drink). The workers were really kind and took the time to ask questions-- like if you wanted to eat in or take out, if you want any drinks or anything else, etc. Something to note is that they have the pizzas displayed and you point to which one you want and then they heat it up for you. Although, sometimes it can be confusing since there are no name tags or descriptions near the pizza -- so for the ones that aren't classics, you're basically describing to them what you want (which takes a bit longer).
I have had the caesar salad once before, but at the time I went the caesar dressing was super oily. So, if you do order a salad, I would recommend choosing a different dressing. I did like how fresh the lettuce was and the amount of croutons they gave. I also had tried the Buffalo Chicken Pizza and it was delicious! Would reccommend this! When I had 2 slices it cost me $8.50 and the Small Caesar Salad cost $8. In the end, I probably wouldn't get the salad again since the pizza was a better deal and price.
Today, I just went with 1 slice of Combo Pizza. I like the dough and how it's thin but with a nice chew to it. The sauce is flavorful and herby. I liked the sausage that was on this combo pizza. The combo pizza comes with mushrooms, sliced onions, sliced green bell peppers, black olives, pepperoni, and cheese. It cost $4.25...
