Sleazy and ableist employees enforcing ridiculous parking fees on disabled people here. I came to Torrey Pines beach with someone who was disabled. The south parking lot did not have an accessible route to the beach at all. I discovered this only after paying for parking at the machine.
One of the beach/park staff told me to drive to the north parking lot instead and show them my south parking pass and they should let me park at no extra cost. They refused to acknowledge my pass and made me pay another $25 to get in. A ranger cop had to ask them to reimburse me, in which they obliged and said they would mail me a check in “4-6 weeks” even though I paid them with card. It’s 2 months later and no check in the mail.
Please just go to Del Mar beach down the street instead - it’s far more accessible and you won’t have to deal with...

The price is variable depending on weekday or weekend. There are the pay machines if there is no attendance at the kiosk. My favorite part is the free parking along the road when your patient you can be 5 yards from sand making it easier to haul your gear. Bathrooms have paper and are clean with sinks/soap and depending on north or south side have full showers/ foot showers. We take walks down towards La Jolla and seek out the different raptors hanging out on cliffs. Beach can be rocky in areas but vibe there is serene with locals...
