Well, after rice for every meal for the last month on a Japanese aircraft carrier, this place was such a welcome sight! We were fed well! The portions are huge and authentic! I had the Birria quesadilla made from two 16" flour tortillas, and I could not finish in one sitting. The chicken burritos are two meals in one. Our other member had birria tacos and said they were excellent! Last but not least, the refried beans tasted like they were made authenticly with lard. If you're at the San Diego military piers, the restaurant is located just past the second light up the hill on 32rd Street past the NEX.

I love this place. I used to frequent here while I was in the Navy. I went 14 years without visiting, but never forgot. I visited LA 2 years ago and convinced my local friends to make the drive down to SD. They had me worried because I've spoken so highly of the food here that what if it's not as good as I remember. Crisis averted, as it was every bit as good, if not better. The California Burrito here is one of my favorite meals anywhere. I love it, and I'll always make it back when I visit CA.

Tried this place out for the first time last Tuesday and was pretty disappointed. The staff was very friendly and answered all of my questions. But when I asked what was their Taco Tuesday deal it was $16 for just 3 tacos. Definitely very pricey for a Taco Tuesday special and compared to what’s available from other taco shops. The tacos were okay, but unfortunately will not be a repeat customer. 2 stars for the price but 3 stars for the food and service. Overall 3 ⭐️.

Take this review as a negative star; I’m visiting San Diego for the first time in 8 years and had high expectations for some Mi Rancho. Once I arrived I noticed the name changed to Burrito Leo (not a big deal), walked in and the entire sitting area was dirty with food on the ground and the tables hadn’t been attended to (not a big deal), but once I received my California Burrito and rolled tacos my mind exploded with disgust; this is not the same restaurant. The Burrito - soggy fries, no guacamole, some odd-tasting green paste, and sour cream - Barf The rolled tacos - extra small with hardly any meat, some odd-tasting paste, not good shredded cheese and crumbled cheese that tasted of parmesan. Everything costs twice as much too, will not eat...

I ate there this early morning. They just opened. The cook, a young dude, was not very welcoming. He seemed perturbed about having a customer so early. He was not rude but wasn 't friendly either. Typical of those youngyers there days. I felt hate. I ordered a plate of Huevos Rancheros con Jamon It was ok. But I think the re- fried beans wa already bad. It stunk. I did not notice it at first because i ate it with the corn tortillas. But toward the end as I took a spoonful of the beans , i smelled the foul small of a spoiled food and it tasted sour already, so I did not finish it. Bad dining experience. I'll never come back there again. I think that place needs to be inspected by a city restaurant and...

The el pastor tacos were DELICIOUS! some of the best I've had in California. The Buché tacos were delectable! Also, the cook made the tacos exactly as I had ordered and even gave some extra Limon. The salsa Verde and Roja tasted amazing as well. I highly recommend. Friend of mine ordered a burrito and it was HUGE and was told how great the seasoning is on the meat. Feels like it's a Mom and Pop shop. The cashier person was really informative about the dishes and answered all my questions about each dish before ordering. This is the perfect authentic place to eat. Definitely made the list on my usual...
