UPDATE Went again. I love this type of place. Indulgent. I love the little shack and its vibe.

SPECIAL SPOT I keep on ordering. This is a really special spot in a very special magical area. This is a really cool old charming relaxed little cottage and a very magical location nearby. Easy access from the highway make sure to get on special road 56. I'm a nutritional eater, I've been ordering the bean and cheese burrito and I'm coming to realize that caliente means hot. I enjoy the two salsa toppings with it.

KIND OF ADDICTED

This is a hole-in-the-wall little spot that's easy access from the local highway 56. It's like a cabin that time forgot and I like the food a lot. Big portions and delicious. Diagonally across from the corner is a magical spot and look for the trail and walk a little. Super awesome. Wonderful breezy area in general with lots of things to view including nature and art and architecture.

This is an incredibly super magical spot, if you look around and realize where you are. This is a really old-fashioned clunky cottage with easy parking. I'm really pleased with it I'm impressed with the service. I've had a carne asada burrito which came alive with the toppings now moving to something more healthy I chose the bean and cheese burrito. They use fat and not oils. Meanwhile it was great with the two salsas they give you. Scary tiny but useful bathroom. Awesome location if you really realize where you are.

Sometimes I wish there were a 4.5 raiting, I don't know if it's exactly a five-star but I will say there are several things going for this place.

Here are a few: amazing area, Sorrento valley is beautiful and this is an amazing spot with a path to walk or bike right there, world-class.

Another awesome element is the really cool retro cabin-like building that is old school and really charming. It's not nice in particular or necessarily clean or shiny.

That being said I enjoyed the burrito but what finally made it really pop were the two toppings the green and the red salsa that he gave that I didn't put on until the end that definitely moved it up in rating.

The nice guy working there told me his major points he appreciates about the place is lean meat, which I love and also plumped up portions and that also wins my heart. His service was great and genuine.

So if you are in the Sorrento area this is a recommended spot because it's a great little place to enjoy the beauty and easy to access more and see a phenomenal area.

This is among the magic spots and areas in San Diego. Sorrento valley has a lot of charm and architecture and just truly stunning things if you spend the time to find.

So I was in the area and looking for Mexican food, and based on the reviews Caliente Mexican food stood out. Upon eating there I am led to believe that these reviews are just based on the Mexican food options that are around here. Because if you love Mexican food you definitely want to avoid this place. I ordered the Carne Asada burrito with three rolled tacos came out to 8.99 . So I was thinking great deal right ? Wrong . The burrito was all tortilla with the child size portion of Carne asada and the faint Green that see in the pictures is the guacamole they barely put in there. So at least the rolled tacos would be good right ? Wrong again. These rolled tacos tasted like something you would find in a frozen food aisle.
