Jersey Mike's Subs — Restaurant in San Diego

First let me address something huge. I go to this Jersey mikes regardless of my outcome on my order every time. Now I must say for the BASE sandwich they do perfect. As long as I add the ingredients through the app or directly tell them in person they have gotten it 100% every time HOWEVER, when I order off of the app and add ingredients with the special instructions they haven’t been successful one time. I could understand if I was asking for something and an extra charge was needed for the item, but it’s simply just extra chipotle mayo or a side of it. It seems to be only the special instructions this location can’t seem to follow. If possible order in person with special instructions if not you probably won’t get that extra side like you hoped for. I’m not sure if they choose to not do it or they are forgetful, either way it’s definitely frustrating when they can make the rest of the sandwich exactly how I want. I know these special instructions have been printed on the receipts because I’ve seen them say my request. Either way it won’t stop me from ordering in the future just please talk to some employees at this location and I will...

I visited the newest Jersey Mike’s on Governor Drive in San Diego. The sandwich was good so there are no complaints there. The reason for the 2 stars is that none of the employees wore masks as they stood directly above the food they were preparing. There were about 5-6 people behind the counter who were all chatting and laughing together while my sandwich was being made (the guy making it was also talking and laughing directly on top of my sandwich. I realize that masks are no longer mandatory, but I believe that when you are preparing other people’s food, and you don’t know who has or has not been vaccinated, masks should still be a must. With the new Delta variant and the increase again in covid cases, it is totally irresponsible to not wear a mask when you are preparing food in a restaurant. All my friends and family were really excited about the restaurant opening in this location, but as soon as I told them the employees were maskless, they too were appalled and said there is no way they will buy their sandwiches. The sandwich was great, so if the employees start wearing masks, I will be back. Otherwise, good luck...

I’ve only been to this Jersey Mike’s once before, maybe like 3 months ago to grab a small Turkey and provolone sandwich for an after/gym snack.

This time I had the chipotle cheese steak on rosemary parmesan, and added portobello mushrooms, pepper relish, grilled banana peppers, and grilled jalapeños. This is a sandwich I saw @thatcrazysubguy make on Instagram.

The sandwich was really good! It was spicy, juicy, as cheesy! It was pretty heavy to be honest, but I liked it a lot. I ordered it via the website and it was ready in 10 minutes. Super simple process and easy to grab and go once I was at the store.

Update: I went back tonight and tried the No. 9 Club Supreme. I subbed chipotle mayo for regular mayo and added pepper relish. I also had it Mike’s Way. It was really good! Definitely better than the customized chipotle cheesesteak I had before. I think the cold sandwiches are...
