I was here on January 2nd, 2017 at around 19:00 after my friend decided to have some beer with dinner. There were plenty of seats as it was a Tuesday. We were seated inside, even though there were plenty of seats outside since it was too cold for my friend. They do have heaters if you do seat outside though. Our server was nice, he guided us to order on our menu and told us what was the special item of the month. I ordered the home grown burger tonight since I was craving for some beef. My 2 friends who were hungry ordered burgers to. They also ordered buffalo wings and the jalapenos. My other friend drank one beer too until the server kept saying that it is a Tuesday night and smiling while asking for another order of a beer. The food was great. My beef patty was just right and juicy, the bread was fresh and the veggies were good except for the tomato piece. The tomato piece was fresh, but I did not like the piece that came with the sandwich because it was a hard piece. The fries were crunchy. My friend who had the chips also liked it. I tried a piece and it was crispy. I also liked the buffalo chicken appetizer since it was boneless. The jalapeno was good tasting, had cheese inside, but pricey for what it is. It is almost as much as a burger. My friend liked 2 out of the 3 beers he tried. The service here was great. They refilled our water and cleared the appetizer plates in time to make room for the burgers. They even gave us a whole jug of water which we did not use and there were free beer samples that they offered tonight. But my friend and I decided to pass on free beer because for me, I rarely consume alcohol and my friend had a New Year's resolution of not drinking beer. I can say the beer is pretty good since most of my friends who have been here liked it. This is a great place for people to relax after work, eat good dinner and sip on some beers. But for people like me who do not drink, I do find prices to be a bit on the high end. My homegrown burger cost me $14.95 and the Jalapeno appetizer cost almost $10. I had a great experience here and recommend it for those who want a drink on...
Read moreI returned here after 8 years. Before, I came for their weekend brunches, but they no longer do it. So came here as a big party of 15 with a dinner reservation on a Saturday. We were seated right away at our table that was ready even though some of our party members were running a little late. Ordering was difficult. It is being left on each person or a family member to scan the QR code to start a tab and place orders; zero interaction with a server. Some of our party had questions about some of the menu items, but it took a while to get a server to ask those questions. One of the party members was impatient and just ordered a mac n cheese, which was what they thought was the right one, but ended up being a different. Drinks other than water took a while to get. The beer they had from their line and other partners were good. They do offer smaller 4oz tasters of the draft beer if you want to try different ones. The food was okay from what most of the party said. I got to try the seasonal Asada Fries, which was spicy, but not much flavor. I ordered the Grass-fed burger, which was okay, and not a top-five burger for me. I wouldn't order a burger if I came again. Closing out the tab was done through the QR/web, again cutting out any interaction with a server. One party member kept getting errors when they went to pay their check, so they ended up going up to the bar to close the tab. From what I remember, the place and atmosphere looks like it has not changed since being here last time. It's definitely not up to the good memories of the food and atmosphere. I would probably just come back for their beer at the bar, and maybe...
Read moreOh. My. God. What a great find. We were staying across the road at the Marriott and decided last minute to walk for dinner. It's in an office complex and we weren't even sure if it was open but boy... Was it worth walking over here.
Audrey knows the menu and made some great recommendations. I ended up going with the tuna nachos. As I'm not a cilantro person I asked for none and it showed up garnished. There was zero issue and it immediately vanished from the table and a fresh order was served up within a few minutes. In the meantime I was able to finish a caesar salad that had one of the best dressings I've had in years. Add to it that this place has a dozen or more beers that they make and it is a little slice of Canadian heaven.
I shared a picture of the menu for food as well as the menu for beer with some family back home and they pretty much agreed that I should just order one of everything and bring it back with me! The food will have me singing its praises for weeks to come as a highlight from a 2-week trip.
All of the sauces are made in house right down to the dressing, and the chips themselves are baked here. You can't ask for fresher food or a prettier environment to have a cold drink and a hot meal. Absolutely on the must-do list the next time we are back down in the...
