I can't in good conscience go back to Marcos. I want to preface this by apologizing to people who work there. This isn't aimed at you. I feel particularly bad writing this since in COVID times, no one should leave a bad review.
I recently started ordering pizzas from here and liking their white sauce base. I made it a point of not ordering from big stores like Domnios because I wanted to help the local community.
But today I saw the owner, Joe I believe, berating a customer in front of everybody when the customer complained about waiting 45 mins for a pick up order. The language was unruly, entitled . It was particularly bad seeing the owner making fun with another, perhaps a regular, customer about it in FRONT of his staff. I admit I wasn't there was the whole interaction or know the back story or the pressure the owner was under today, but being in fast food comes with handling these situations , politely and respectfully. Just like being a front line doctor can't shout at his/her patients, regardless of how unruly the patient is. I bring this up because that customer was a doctor.
This whole situation could've been handled much nicely. Kudos to the young lad who was trying to explain the delay to the doctor's order, until the owner stepped in and said " no need to explain anything to this guy" I am not sure what is he teaching to his young workforce (... standing up for yourself was def not the message). I sure hope that young cashier knows he was doing a good job, just before Joe stepped in.
"If you don't like to wait you can leave" "I am the owner, I don't have to write m my name. Remember my name". " don't bother with his order" "I don't know when your order will be ready"
I've met joe in the past once and that's why it felt particularly bad. He was nice enough to invite me to try his pizzas , which I did and liked.
However, I should've said something today. I was the only other brown face there at the time out of like 6 customers. He could've been shouting at me, at my father or a friend. I Felt it in my gut that this was wrong on many levels.
This is the first time I didn't leave a tip. Also the last time I am going there. Their Pizzas are nice... but ruined...
Read moreI ordered on the phone for a pepperoni pizza. Was going to pay $20 for large. When I got there 3 minutes before it open. Josh or Jacob told me to leave outside because they were not open yet, even though there doors were wide open they told me to exit. When I stood in front of the door to write a review about this the manager told me I can’t wait in front of the business (it’s public side strip) public access, they still tried to remove me. The owner tried to come talk to me politely & respectfully, but the manager (with a beard, did not want to give me his name)kept coming & instantly tried to kick me out time & time again. I can’t say there pizza was good or bad, but for $20 a cheese & pepperoni, I cancelled & was threatened by the manager that the cops were going to get called. I got better customer service at Little Ceasers. It’s a shame that an employee can damage a business with no remorse or care for the owners pride & commitment. Sorry to the Owner Ed for this review, but those two guys should not be in customer...
