I would give this place 3.5 stars. The overall experience was good but was turned off by the smelly/dirty bathrooms :( We camped in here Sunday afternoon after shopping nearby at Macy's because we were starving and it was raining so we needed shelter. The bar looked good and it had a great vibe. Luckily they had couple free seats at the bar just for us so we didn't have to wait for a table which was what we wanted. There was a game playing so it was a very cheerful and loud affair but in a nice energetic way. The bartender was friendly and gave good suggestions for drinks and food. We tried few beers from their house brews like the blond ale (which was nice and light), the strange gateway IPA (which my husband loved but I found too bitter) and acute curiosity pale ale (which was light but flavorful and not bitter). We also shared french fries and their chicken wings jamaican jerk style. Good food, good drinks and lively atmosphere. Would suggest to clean the bathrooms regularly though as I had an unpleasant visit to the ladies room :(

After a long day of exploring the city, our group of eight was ready for a bite to eat. On a busy Saturday night, we were pleasantly surprised to be seated immediately upon walking in—no small feat in this bustling area! One standout feature was the ability to order directly from your phone. It made splitting checks a breeze and eliminated the wait for a server to take our orders. However, we couldn’t help but notice the automatic tip charge, which felt a bit steep considering the lack of traditional table service. For food, we shared the buffalo cauliflower, a soft-baked pretzel, and a Caesar salad. Every dish was exceptional, but the buffalo cauliflower stole the show—possibly the best we’ve ever had! The service we did encounter was fast and friendly, and the overall experience was smooth and enjoyable. If you’re looking for great food and a modern dining experience, this spot is worth a visit.

If anyone’s looking for great beer and good pub food while in San Francisco then Bartlett Hall is definitely worth a try. We went this evening and had the usual problems…how to choose which beer to drink from the extensive choices on offer and how on earth will we manage an American portion of food 😂 The food ain’t fancy but it’s tasty…the beer is both tasty and fancy. The fish and chips were excellent (both of them) and the smash burger was both tasty and huge (see it’s those American portion sizes). The beers were top notch. We had a Blonde and a West Coast IPA.

PSA: Skip this place.

We just needed some place to watch the game and eat so we wound up here since there were limited options around the Union Square area. We should have known from the minute we walked in that the service would be awful. We diligently observed that there was a "Please wait to be seated sign" and stood there at attention. We could see the servers looking at us (not ferrying food, not delivering checks), just genuinely confused that there was a guest waiting.

When we were finally seated, we were provided with menus which are two sided. The first side is the food which is served all day and the back side with drinks. It's not a big menu and we didn't take a long time to decide but that didn't matter, our waiter had disappeared. When he did emerge from whatever cave he was hiding in, he threw down waters and and vanished in a ninja puff of smoke before we were even able to order. When we finally ordered, we ordered a pretzel to start and our mains.

The pretzel took a surprisingly long time to come out. It was probably because they were baking it for an eternity because it was teeth hurting hard and the exterior had a distinctive charred taste. We had the game to occupy us but that also meant we knew exactly how much time had passed before we got our mains from when we ordered. 40 minutes for one fish and chips order and one salmon entree. Neither of which require that long of a cooking time (unless of course, they were going for their pretzel technique of burnt to a crisp). My time is extremely valuable and at that point I felt extremely disrespected. I had to ask the waiter why it took so long. I expected some excuse along the lines of understaffed or really busy because of St Patrick's Day. Instead he told us that he put in our entree order after we finished our appetizer. Um...WHAT? I can maybe understand if we were sipping on drinks or enjoying some beers and were there to socialize and chat. We did not order alcoholic drinks. It was just the two of us, sitting side by side at table desolate of food, waiting in vain to give our bodies food for sustenance. MANAGEMENT: PLEASE RETRAIN YOUR STAFF TO NEVER DO THIS.

The fish and chips were a disappointment. The salmon was actually quite good but I will NEVER set foot in this sorry establishment that is so...

Wow! By far one of the best meals I had while in San Francisco! Bartlett Hall serves a variety of food with multiple burger options to suit any appetite! I'd strongly recommend giving their burgers a try! They are perfectly cooked to order and have the best flavor a burger can have. They don't go too overboard with them either, which is a good thing. What you end up tasting is high quality meat and your choice of toppings. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful with making suggestions where needed, and the atmosphere is perfect for the setting. They also have a full bar and other food options for those not in the mood for a burger. We also ordered a bowl of mac & cheese to share as an appetizer but it wasn't brought out until after our main meals, not a big deal at all, but the manager was very apologetic and actually took it off our bill (without us even saying anything about it)! It just goes to show how well managed this restaurant is! We actually stumbled upon Bartlett Hall by searching Google Maps for restaurants near our hotel, otherwise we probably wouldn't have known about it. We almost decided to skip dinner that night but because of the great reviews we decided to walk over and give it a try. So glad we did! Because of that, I wanted to add to their reviews and verify that they are indeed correct; this is certainly a must try restaurant! We still talk about their burgers to this day! Highly...

I have only been here once despite working in the area a while longer and I have only been during happy hour so take my review with a grain of salt.

The ambiance of the place is wonderful. Between the music, the chatter of conversations, the bustle of the bartenders, and the lighting, there is little to complain about. Ok only slight criticism is the music choices are a little eclectic but I liked all the music anyways. (Classic 80s to modern alt and a bit inbetween)

The beer was great. Small disclaimer - it is west coast style, small brewery. What do I mean? When I went, the beer listing (all brewed in house) were as listed: blonde ale, pale ale, west coast ipa, Belgium specialty ale, double ipa - west coast style, TRIPLE WEST COAST IPA..., and a hipster coconut pastry stout. What I drank: the west coast ipa. 2x. I tried a few others but I love me a west coast IPA. They have guest beers but you need to actually read a menu for that.

The bartenders were nice and mixed drinks in a mixer/shaker when applicable. They were very knowledgable about their beer and spirits list and I even saw one of them taking small tastes of the beer with a note card and making sure they understood the flavors of their beer.

Prices: I went at happy hour, had 2 beers, and paid 11.25 plus what I tipped. For sf that is 6/5 stars Overall: highly recommend for happy hour timing, can’t speak for...
