This is a slighty overpriced campus café with a selection of made-to-order and prepackaged foods and beverages. Between classes, the lines are extremely long and you'll have to wait for up to five minutes just to order and five to ten more minutes depending on what you're ordering. There is no indoor seating, but they open an awning when it rains. There are lots of tables and chairs nearby. Credit cards, cash, and tap payments are accepted.
They have pastries, sandwiches, tacos, salads, pastas, pizza, and more. It's kind of crazy how many options this little shack offers. There are also daily specials, which I recommend trying. For standard items, a slice of pepperoni pizza or a boxed fruit salad will be a quick option, but if you have time, the sandwiches are pretty good, especially the BLTA. You can just ask someone what they recommend if you can't decide. You can't go wrong with some fries. They've recently switched to straight-cut fries with the peel on, which I prefer over other types of fries.
The beverages are made according to Peet's Coffee recipes and they also have tea (teabags, not loose-leaf). If you're in a hurry, they do have bottled drinks. Their coffee is pretty good.
The gyro special had tender meat and fresh vegetables drizzled with some tzatziki sauce on a slightly stale piece of pita and served with a side of fries. The caramel macchiato was perfectly sweetened and didn't have too much ice.
The Korean BBQ Rice Bowl, which I purchased on a different day, was just rice with shredded chicken and mushrooms doused in hot sauce and topped with parsley. The chicken was also a bit overcooked. It cost $10.32 after tax, which I felt was a bit much...
Read moreGood burgers and sandwiches (though I wish they still had the Roasted Veggie on the menu). Their fries are delicious, and a campus favorite. Coffee and espresso is ok. I've never had a good rice or pasta dish from Rosso, but I know some people who love them. The pizza is made at an external site, so I wouldn't recomend it. Fairly fast service considering the amount of college students they serve daily; during lunch rush it can take a while to make your food. Bagel sandwhiches are always fastest. Staff is...
Read moreVery hit-or-miss. Just doesn't seem organized. Orders for food in particular are often lost or really delayed, even when it's not busy.
However, beverages are reasonably priced and prepared well.
Honestly, if you're just looking to grab a coffee, Cafe 101 is MUCH better and a short walk away, and with all the delays on food, even though it's pretty good for campus fare, it's just not...
