Hungry Cafe — Restaurant in San Francisco

I’m sure, like me, you’re seeing the reviews and thinking “sure…5 stars… but for Bayview” which doesn’t really mean 5 stars by San Francisco standards. But after trying this place… I’m in love. Food is fresh and full of flavor. And their sandwiches use bread from Rize Up bakery. The owners really put the their love into the food. Harissa chicken sandwich was my fav. The carrot coriander hummus that came with the mezza platter tastes heavenly, perfectly tart, with a touch of sweetness. It seems overall it’s been more difficult to find great food in SF since COVID. Hungry Cafe is an exception.

The Hungry Cafe is an amazing addition to the Southeast Community Center. I love coming here when I'm working remotely and grabbing lunch at the cafe. The food is always fresh, well-prepared, and healthy. I love the quiches and other quick meals. The staff is very friendly and warm, including Ryan and the co-owner Mo.
