My recent visit to Taquería Las Katrina's was nothing short of fantastic. This beautiful and vibrant restaurant, nestled in the heart of San Bruno Avenue's Portola neighborhood, offers a culinary experience like no other.I was particularly excited to try their vegetarian burrito with tofu, and it did not disappoint. The combination of perfectly seasoned tofu, fresh vegetables, and a variety of flavorful sauces made for a mouthwatering delight. The portion was generous, leaving me more than satisfied. But the delights didn't stop there. The nachos were a hit at our table. They were a perfect blend of crispy chips smothered in cheese and topped with an array of mouthwatering ingredients. For those who love meat, the super burrito carne asada is a must-try. The succulent carne asada was perfectly cooked and paired with a medley of fresh ingredients, creating a burrito that was not only enormous in size but also incredibly delicious. We also ordered bean and cheese nachos and meat nachos. The bean and cheese nachos were a delightful combination of creamy beans and gooey cheese, while the meat nachos were a carnivore's dream come true. One thing that struck me about Taquería Las Katrina's was the generous portions they serve. This restaurant is a gem in the culinary scene of the Portola neighborhood. Whether you're a vegetarian, a meat lover, or a fan of Mexican cuisine, this restaurant has something to offer everyone. I can't wait to return for another...
Read moreUpdate: I love this place so much; today unfortunately marks the second day theyve made my order wrong. I ordered over the phone this time my typical, and they gave me a burrito with beans, rice, some kind of meat, and sour cream. Last time I ordered in person and they added just rice. This time they charged me for this burrito even though its not what I ordered, and I was yoo busy with work to go back and reorder. I will try one more time and if its incorrect again, im going to find a new taqueria sadly. Marking down service to a 2 for the incorrect orders, and total 5 stars to 3 stars.
My go to is a refried beans burrito with cheese and sour cream - basic, I know, but you'd be surprised that some places just don't make good ones. Katrinas definitely serves up a good bean cheese sour cream burrito though, with a creamy texture and hearty flavor. The cook that handed me my burrito also gave me a super spicy yummy habanero salsa when I asked for red sauce. Both the red salsas were deliiiicious. I also snagged a chocolate cake slice which is the perfect meal cap. The cake was super moist. Will be back! Only thing that would prevent me from going here would be finding...
Read moreLet me first start off by saying that I have been to this spot since it first opened because it is nearby but have never felt the need to write a review until recently.
This is SF's top 3 Super Burrito. I have been to every taqueria you can possibly think of and I am confident especially the past 3-5 times ive been here in the past 2 months.
The consistency that I have been getting is amazing and they have a good balance of texture. The only real different thing they do is they add lettuce which I personally don't mind and kind of like since it adds a little freshness. Obviously you must get refried beans.
I don't write reveiws often if ever, but I felt the need to since I am very impressed recently and this place deserves more since it can be a hard location to get to. But if you are nearby I'll say this is the best Burrito you can get on San Bruno....
