Restaurant-quality dim sum served at this quintessential Cantonese bakery on San Bruno. Har gao (shrimp dumpling) and shiu mai (pork dumpling), gets the taste right — served warm and ready to go, but skins still chewy. Various fried dumplings (shrimp and chive, tarot), excellent as well. Only recommendation is for char siu bao (bbq pork buns) to come with more meat filling. Shrimp Dumpling Soup, served in brown broth and with bok choy, decent but not life changing. An excellent, and affordable, dim sum option on the south side of San Francisco. Lunch combo, generously portioned and economically-priced.

It’s really a to go place but surprisingly they offer a kitchen that will take orders and even customize your order. The staff is very nice and friendly. A few IYKYK things 1) It’s one of the rare places that still make mochi desert. They have a pineapple version and a peanut version. Both are really good. 2) Their bolo “pineapple” buns are also pretty good and they have it in a dedicated space with heat lamp. 3) they make soy milk from scratch. And it’s delicious.

This used to be Hoy Sun dim sum/restaurant. I miss Hoy Sun. If you compare the food from back then to now, the ingredients and flavors now seem skimped. Tonight, I decided to get some food from the hot trays in front of the restaurant. Chow mein $7 an order (they also sell a smaller box for $5), pork chop $7 an order and a sticky rice with chicken wrapped in lotus leaf $3.85. If you go a few blocks down, the prices are lower. The food here is OK. Not great.

Ugh wow. First off off, I appreciate that they have small 3pc orders, all other dim sum places make you have to place like a 10pc of 1 kind of dumpling order so you can't have variety.

2nd off, these dumplings are fat af, and totally full of goodness.

3rd, they have ready made behind a glass so you can just point at what looks good as an order, and trust, whatever looks good, IS amazing.

I honestly can't tell you what I ordered because I pointed at all of it. This fried shrimpy wonton thing was sublime. I got it because all the other asian customers were ordering tons of it.. so it is a good idea to observe what the regular customers are picking and just follow their footsteps..

Only thing is they don't have much in the way of sauce to go with these dumplings. They have generic soy sauce and sweet and sour out of a packet.. I was hoping for some sort of.. idk like a ponzu for the dumplings. It's OK, they are still good without sauce.

Worth a try!

Edit, Lo Mein noodles with bbq pork is boss status, and their Sesame balls are huge and dense (good). The stuffed rice wrap was also filled with so much stuff, it wasn't...

I can't give them any stars (but this review system requires you to select the number of stars) the woman who sold me food was being dishonest, knowing I wanted a certain item and sold me food that she wanted to sell off (at the end of the day) that seemed like a deal, but was twice the price than the prices on the board. They are cheats. I told her that I would gladly exchange the items for the item I told her that was my first order (which she never sold to me). Long story short, you never know what your customers, who have frequented your place are going through personally in their lives, and helping to just hear the customer's needs would have been enough. I walked out of there promising to never go to such a place that sells dishonesty. I would never recommend this place on...

A quick Chinese stop. Have table service, take outs, dim sum, and bakery. A few days ago I went back to the place to have a Sichuan dish . It taste authentically spicy and numbing. Though this is mostly Hong Kong cuisine restaurant. I saw a senior couple, one with some difficulty to walk, came in to order take outs. The lady server in the restaurant, who was very busy, charmingly escorted the senior to a table and let them sit down for their order. They recently added free Wi-Fi. which usually not a big deal. But the cell signals in this area are noticeable bad for virtually all carriers. So I had secretly wished that they would have Wi-Fi someday. That someday is now. They care. Fantastic people. It's a neighborhood restaurant. If they had a better decoration, I would...
