Za'atar | Levantine Inspired Street Food — Restaurant in San Francisco

Absolutely phenomenal food at fair prices, but not a real restaurant.

I was walking in the area and saw this on Google Maps, so I decided to stop by. It turns out that this is actually a cloud kitchen and you have to order from an app and pick it up if you want something.

I got a Lamb & Beef Kabob Rice Bowl ($20.45) and it was excellent. It came garnished with parsley and with a small container of some kind of pink, salty yogurt sauce. The seasoned rice was full of flavor, the vegetables had a great crunch, and the meat, cooked medium, was tender, juicy, and tasted strongly of lamb. I wonder if there was actually beef because I've had patties with lamb and beef blended together and they don't taste as lamb-y as this.

This is a takeout window. Consistent with our planning abilities, we didn’t know that when we rolled up so were a bit disappointed at first. We’re dumb sometimes 🤷🏻‍♂️.

We ordered online. It said it would be 30 mins. We let them know that we were already there. It took 5 minutes

The food was so good. My hangry frown was turned upside down real quick after biting into the lamb shoulder wrap. At first I was perplexed by the inclusion of fries in my wrap, but they were really good. My girlfriend’s chicken salad was fresh and the Za’atar dressing was dope. Only comment is that the tomatoes were not very good; fresh, not good flavor, but good tomatoes are a commodity ITE so we forgave them.

Tried this place for the first time, The food was good, The customer service was good and I recommended it to my fellow co-workers to give it a try.

There was a mistake in my order and when I called the lady on the phone was very kind and professional, I got my order fixed with compensation quickly and with the compensation meal I gave to a co-worker and he had hummus for the first time leaving a smile on his face saying it was good and filling.

I would go back again, they did not go skimpy on the meat which sadly a lot of places do, which I don't go back to.
