Meet You BBQ — Restaurant in San Gabriel

I found Meet You BBQ on Yelp by searching "late night eats" in San Gabriel area at midnight. They closed at 2am. We got there at 12:45am. Last call on ordering is at 1am. Yes, just made it!

Meet U BBQ has a variety of meats on skewers, seafood, fried rice, and more. It was the perfect place to eat for late night because who doesn't like meat on skewers, cold beer and good music. It's self ordering after scanning the QR code on the table. Staff is super friendly and told us to help ourselves with snacks.

The complimentary self-serve snacks station have random items like roasted peanuts, sweet & sour chicken feet, sesame balls, wonton noodles, watermelons, orange slices and more. They were all interestingly delicious individually. Very generous!

I think they used the same seasoning for everything but the meat brings out the flavors slightly different. We had the chicken wings, pork, beef, chicken gizzard, and chicken skewers. The chicken wings was the best! Packed with flavors and cooked to perfection!

The Grilled Oyster and Scallops with glass noodles on shell was so good. It was garlicky and savory.

The baby clam was too spicy for me but addictingly good.

The skewers here are soooo good. I’m in love. This place is pretty popular. I had to wait 40 minutes for a party of two.

Unfortunately the service is a bit lacking. You order from your phone via QR code, so the only time you interact with a server is when they come to bring your food.

Side dishes, like seaweed and fried shrimp chips and roasted peanuts, are free for all near the kitchen. At my visit on a Friday night, they did not refill the platters when food ran out.

The lamb and beef skewers were so good! I had Dong Bei in Monterey Park not too long ago. The skewers here taste so much better! I tasted the grilled fish, which was good - but the skewers are better. I’d come back next time and only order skewers.

Came here with friends on a Friday evening and the place wasn’t busy so we sat down right away. They have an interesting way to order food, all orders are placed through one’s phone. We ordered several types of meat, including a cucumber salad that was perfectly paired with everything. My favorite skewers were the ones of mushroom, sausage and chicken skin. The portions were not very big but enough to sample several without overeating. But we ate so much that we didn’t get any dessert and by the time we left there was a line of people waiting to go in.
