Yu Fish 鱼悦酸菜鱼 — Restaurant in San Gabriel

10/18/2025: first time here, soft opening. The parking lot is very crowded with several restaurants sharing.. pro tip? Park next door at the SF Superstore lot and walk!

Dinner was amazing! At our server's suggestion, we ordered their Signature Sauerkraut Soup with Fish (mild Spicy). You order with a QR code at the table and are guided on a journey to add the items you wish to include. The online options were more plentiful than the printed menu shows, so make sure you check it out! We selected the wide sweet potato noodles and black fungus. We ordered a small to share between the two of us and have a little left over! If you've ever ordered a sour pickle fish soup anywhere, this has a similar flavor profile. The mild has a little heat, so just be aware if you're not a heat seeker. The noodles are SO bouncy.. I'd get those again and again!

The Crispy Corn Skewers were a surprise! Individual kernels skewered and seasoned well.. you get 10 per order and I think hubby may have snagged a few extra when I wasn't looking!

The Popcorn chicken is made from good quality, moist chicken with a flavorful coating. It also disappeared quickly!

We finished the meal with an order of their Handcrafted Yogurt with Cream Top. This is genuinely hand made with high quality ingredients and is addictive. A definite must try!

I can't wait to come back and try more of their menu items - and of course, another yogurt. Next time, I'll get...

I recently tried Yu Fish (鱼悦·酸菜鱼) and was so impressed! Finally, an authentic sauerkraut fish spot in LA that really delivers.

✔️ The signature Old Jar Sauerkraut Fish is amazing – tender boneless black fish slices in a rich broth made with pork bone stock. It’s flavorful without being overly spicy, and the soup is so good I ended up pouring it over rice. Absolutely addictive! 🍲🍚

✔️ The fried tofu skin skewers were a total surprise – crispy, light, and instantly reminded me of street food back in China.

✔️ The fried durian balls are a must for durian lovers – crunchy on the outside, creamy and fragrant inside.

✔️ The handmade milk-skin yogurt was smooth, refreshing, and the perfect way to cool down after the meal.

✔️ Even the sweet fried sticks with sugar powder were a fun snack to finish off with.

Overall, the food quality is excellent, portions are generous, and the staff is friendly. Highly recommend if you’re craving authentic Chinese comfort food with some creative snacks. Definitely...

Brand new, currently soft opened. We tried the sauerkraut soup with beef, fish and also the golden pumpkin soup with beef. All were good! The pumpkin soup is really strong in flavor and spice but not in the pumpkin. Sauerkraut soup is lighter and not as spicy as the pumpkin.

Would love to try the golden hot and sour soup but unfortunately they only have fish for that one :( I wish they would let you choose protein so you could try different pairings of protein and soup.
