Their dine-in service is very poor, and they do not respect their customers at all. Some staff here is extremely arrogant and rude. This restaurant did not have a digital recorded waitlist system or a written down form. Their waitlist is totally random. Some waiters see you come first and give you a number to wait, but later when some other waiters come and ask for the next table, they do not follow that assigned number. They blindly say others come first even though they may not. Because of this chaotic service, some customers take advantage of this nature and just directly jump in line. Restaurant ignore this behavior, and they just keep you waiting, only till you feel annoyed and they start getting aware of you actually come first. This restaurant is crowded since their food come out very slow, so if you enjoy jumping in line, or if you don’t mind others keep jumping in line, and you can bear the fact that the restaurant does not honor their preassigned waitlist ticket to you, please feel free to go there. The restaurant management should do something about this, instead of pushing away responsibilities. When business gets popular and crowded, it is necessary to keep the service organized. We used to order from this restaurant often, both take-out and dine-in. Food always come out very slow, but the taste is authentic and fine. Do take out or delivery if you really want to try it out, their bad service and attitude might downgrade the dining experience. I hope this review will not get removed, as I clearly stated my authentic experience. The way that they operate this restaurant and treat their customers is a huge, warning red flag. It is super ill-mannered and discourteous...
Read moreOur company recently had a team lunch at Hunan Chilliking, located in San Gabriel city, in the same plaza as Yifang Fruit Tea, this restaurant promises an authentic taste of Hunan cuisine.
Firstly, I must address the parking situation, which proved to be a bit of a challenge. The parking lot is small, and at times, finding a spot can be quite a task. So, carpooling or arriving early might be a good idea, especially for larger groups.
For those in our team who aren't accustomed to spicy food, it was crucial to have the dishes adjusted to their liking. Without moderating the spiciness, some found the heat a bit overwhelming. However, the staff was accommodating and happy to modify the spice levels, ensuring everyone could enjoy their meal.
Now, onto the highlight of the lunch - the steamed egg (non-spicy)! This dish was an absolute winner, and we couldn't get enough of its velvety smoothness and mouthwatering taste.
One thing that stood out throughout the meal was the masterful execution of every dish. Each plate was skillfully stir-fried, resulting in an irresistible aroma that instantly stimulated our appetites. The flavors were top-notch, making it hard to resist going back for seconds (and...
Read moreEvery time I come to LA this restaurant is my go to no matter how out of the way it is, I will make sure that I will get to eat here. Seeing other reviews saying how they are just pure chilli or too spicy, I just don’t get it since “Chilli” is in its name so why even bother to leave a negative review talking about the Chilli. As for me, I came from Thailand and as you know we love our Chilli, and I am that person who would be satisfy just eating the well seasoned Chilli and rice as a meal. When I am here I usually get their frog pot which is amazing and if you are into frog that is a must order. You can never go wrong with their shredded potatoes or cabbage or any other veggie dish such as watercress to balance out your pallet with all the spices. Also I get the chicken bits in Chilli too, similar flavor profile as the frog pot but just different protein. Also the steamed egg is also a must get as well. Their portions never disappoint since they will give you plenty of it. Ever since I had hunan back in 2014 when I got to LA, their food remains consistent and a heaven for spicy...
