C'est Si Bon Bakery — Restaurant in San Jose

I tried this place because I was told it was pretty good and I got a group on deal. I show up on Saturday (walk-in) I wanted a dozen cupcakes, pair of 6...I didn't see alot of "product" (hardly any cupcakes) so I asked if I could place an order for a later date. The woman insisted on being able to assist us but we would have to get 4,4,4..no thanks. I was searching for a good bakery for a bday coming up. So I scheduled a pickup a few days from then to try theyre cupcakes. At the pickup, they were ADORABLE! I was excited and hopeful..too bad. They were stale, stale and staler! Very disappointing. I call them, pick up a "new batch" (By the way, It really upset me to have to return and exchange these cupcakes! Was it because it was a Groupon? I don't understand why I got stale cupcakes for a preorder!? Did you take my order, fill in some old cupcakes, left it there til I came to pick it up 3days later? Wth?) The new batch was better,cause they were "fresh"..they were good..but the experience left such an awful taste in my mouth...I don't recommend them..No wonder they're on Groupon..stale...

We just moved to the and we're on a mission to find a new go to bakery! My young daughter and I are big on cupcakes & this place did not disappoint! Everything weve tried has been great but we already have our favorites! I am picky with my dessert as I prefer them not to be overly sweet and this place fits the bill. We visited last week and we came back for more today! Our favorites;

Burnt almond- not too sweet, has the perfect amount of almond flavor and crunch

Red velvet chocolate chip- moist red velvet with mini chocolate chips and cream cheese frosting. You can taste the cream cheese, its.not over powered by sugar Moist Chocolate Ganache- moist chocolate cupcake with whipped frosting topped with ganache.

The ladoes that helped us both times were super sweet and helpful. Only room for improvement is the space, it feels a little crowded with the seating and I think it can be made a bit cozier and...

Cute, tasty cake with great crumb factor. You know how experts say the crumb of a cake must be moist and perfection (or something like that… I am no expert…)? Well the marble cake here had exemplary crumb-factor (if that’s how you say it!).

I would go back to them for a cake again but I would do things a little differently. The manager who took my order ended up picking a picture that had a watermark. So, the printing on the cake had multiple watermarks. It became a clever game of “put the candle where the watermark is” but it didn’t need to happen that way.

Also, while the Manager Vanessa was great and accommodating, few of the more junior staff were difficult to work with and dismissive. Didn’t love that. All in all, I’d try them again but this time, I would make sure I worked with Vanessa only and also picked all the details and photos...
