Roaches and Waiter seemed like she was in a rush…. I showed her a holiday item they had on the menu 7 days prior from my visit she ask me to show her a picture, I pulled out my phone and opened their Instagram and she looked at the picture for two seconds and said no I don’t have that. It was fine I told her I needed some time to look at the menus she left. She came back and my bf ordered His meal she looked at me ..I told her I need more time… she said let me see what you want again! So assuming she didn’t even look the first time I showed it to her again and she began to read the Description of the item I wanted ( posted on their Instagram it is called the Clark bark French toast) she said ,”oh yeah oh no we don’t have any of that stuff” but I can make you French toast with Reese’s pieces on it I told her yeah that’s fine. Came out good, but not what I wanted but that’s okay she tried. Food came out but then I noticed my bf did not get a side with his meal…On the top of the menu it says BENEDICT’SSCRAMBLESQuesadilla severed with great potatoes or sub for Hash brown! My boyfriend ordered”The scramble “ plate We asked her if he can have hashbrowns with his order. She said since it comes with potatoes already in the scramble that he doesn’t get anything on the side Then she added if next time you want it like that I can do it?? What?? Whatever that means! … this doesn’t make sense to me if it says clearly on the top that Benedict, scrambles and quesadillas are all served with potatoes??? I wanted to ask a manager but my boyfriend didn’t want me to make a big deal so I just left it alone but it was really bothering me…. So we ended up ordering the Reeses peanut butter French toast, French toast with bananas one scramble with no hashbrowns 🤨 2 very small orange juices I ordered a side of sourdough toast a piece of bacon and sausage. At the very end I ordered two raspberry coffee cakes to go and a hot chocolate. As we are finishing our meal a little friend quickly crawled up the chair at our table! A ROACH! 🪳 I told our waiter she just said looked at said “Oh God!” Quickly grabbed 2 Togo boxes for the food left on the table and said sorry about that she gave us the paper she scribbled our order onto I had to call her to reread everything she wrote so she can make it make sense. She didn’t charge for the cakes. Probably not ever going back here again. I think I was more thrown off by our waiter then the roach 🪳(tall girl dark hair) my parents used to take me here as a kid maybe they will step their game up and I...

After a looong day of plinking my Buddy and I needed a bite to eat, he suggested The Cup And Saucer. When we arrived I noted that they had booths outside of their building in a covered area. I actually thought the area was part of the restaurant. It was just like indoor seating but better “imo”

I ordered the hamburger “med rare” on rye. Comes with toasted home made rye, “that’s right folks, they make their own bread here” Swiss cheese and grilled onions, I added grilled mushrooms. With the sammi you get your choice of Onion rings, French fry’s, or potato salad. I opted for the onion rings.

“Onion rings” whole not processed, cooked crispy and there was like no oil on them at all, amazing.

“Rye burger” cooked med rare just like I ordered it. Juicy would be an understatement, oh my gosh the RYE bread was soo freakin good..... then the grilled onions and mushrooms with the Swiss cheese........ SHAAAAAA-WINGGG!! Oh and the portions are big, I could only eat 1/2 my sammi “keep in mind I hadn’t eaten all day” look at how many onion rings are on my plate!!! Who does that? These guys do, that’s who. :D

“Service” very good, the waiter actually refilled my water 4 times!! Now that’s just good old fashion service if you ask me. “And most importantly they gave me exactly what...

This is my second time at The Cup and Saucer. There were a couple tables with people at around 4:15pm, so the restaurant was almost empty. When I entered the restaurant, I told the server, “Table for one,” and I followed him. Usually at every restaurant I go to, the server takes the customer to a table first. Instead, this server acknowledged what I said, but he walked away from me without saying anything. I thought I was supposed to follow him, so I mistakenly walk into the kitchen with him. One of the other servers asked me to exit the kitchen. I was quite embarrassed, and it was odd that the server did not communicate with me to tell me to wait for him and stay at the front of the restaurant. Essentially, he was rude, ignored me, and did not properly communicate with me. After that experience, I genuinely felt like leaving and not eating there. When I ordered the shrimp quesadilla with fries, I was not impressed. The little shrimps were from a can, and there were also olives from a can that were not rinsed well. This dish is more suited for elderly people without taste buds in a nursing home.

Essentially, one the servers was odd. You can get way better food in any direction five minutes away from...

The Cup and Saucer is a special place. The owner is an amazing person who takes care of his Patrons. We have eaten here for many many years and love the food. It is a dinner so expect dinner type food but it is fantastic. I am especially fond of his breakfasts. My favorite is the Bacon Omlett with Hash browns. When we go for lunch or dinner my go to is usually his bacon cheese burger. For my wife she enjoys the Cobb Salad. Tonight was great he introduces us to his new desert menu which reminded me of the Ferrell's Ice Cream Parlor. I had the Banana Split and it was incredible. I highly recommend eating here!

We just moved to the area. So far the best breakfast I've had in San Jose (even though it was for dinner). Wife had flank steak. Very tasty. I had diced linguica and eggs. Corn bread just the way I like it. Fresh bottle of Pepper Plant and waitress Tracy earned their fifth star. Definitely will be back. Since this review, I would imagine we’ve been here at least every other week. I know one weekend when my sister and brother in law was in town, we went for 3 separate meals in 4 days. Tonight I was hankering meatloaf. The wife had the flank steak. pictured are the “mini orders”!
